BTW...For outside runs on 1st and 10, 2nd and 7 etc this change is great. But they didnt think of situations where you NEED your ball carrier to go for the edge. simple as that

The concept makes a lot of sense. I do think there's not enough time though - it should be rolled back and attempted to be worked in next season.

Isn't that the point of the running game though? To be more effective on 1st and 2nd Down?
The only people that want great 3rd and Long running is pure run teams that have been stuffed on First and Second Down.
So 1.) don't get stuffed on First and Second Down.
2.) Why does anyone think running on 3rd and Long should be successful?
From Bort/Cdog's point of view, they want more balanced Offenses. In a balanced O, 3rd and Long is a Passing situation. Improving First and Second Down running is exactly what they should be doing. If there's a nerf to 3rd and Long running in order to buff First and Second Down running, aren't they doing EXACTLY what their stated intentions are?
And please don't give me the "I'm a Pass O guy" when half of my Flex is spent on running.

First off, you are a Pass O guy. Dont fool anyone
And no, I wouldnt have mad that argument
To the point...If Balanced or run, running on a 3rd and 10 should ALWAYS be a good option. Simple as that. You cant say "its a pass situation" thus saying its OK running isnt viable on that situation. Stupid argument imo, as I decide for my teams what I do on certain downs and distances. Did they do any nerfs to passing and 2nd and short or 3rd and short because thats a typical "run situation"? Or near the GL? No, because its stupid. OFC the obvious choice is clear but sometimes you intentioanlly dont go the "obvious" choice also on balanced teams.
If passing teams can do typical run situations with their pass without a problem or sim changes to prevent that, why should run teams be any different? Its stupid, enough said.
Also...this is a game. PPL should build like they want. Some go pure pass, some go balanced and some go pure run. They dont try to kill pure pass so they shouldnt try to kill pure run. If anything, they shouldnt make this LESS diverse, lol.

Except I strongly disagree with the First/Second down buff statement either.
Also the counters are completely broken. The HB will go one way then just run down the middle.

You didn't boost your team last season nor have you boosted it this season. You have a team that is in the doldrums of Sophomore (Seasoned now) vs a team that is competing for #1 in GLB2. You do not consider yourself a Pass O guy?

I dont understand why they dont know a "middle way". They once again went from one extreme directly to another

It doesnt have to do with player style. Power backs, as well as elusive backs run straight into traffic. As a rushing team you need those edge runs to have a chance at the first down in 3rd and long situations. The current change makes that even harder than it was last season and it has been garbage last season already.
Im always open for changes. I will keep playing (for now) anyway. But this change didnt solve the problems last seasons change caused. They should have first tried to adress that and then come with sth like that now. Just dont like the change. I cant change it, but I do not need to like it either.
My whole point is that reggie of ga is hitting those edge runs after the changes, but also the changes have given him the freedom to actually use his carry awareness to hit the hole instead of gun straight to the sideline every time.

Here are two examples http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/198861/2854169 and http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/198861/2854430 he had no issue taking it outside and this sums up most of his runs. However not only can he bounce it outside but the new freedom allows him to read the defense. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/198861/2854392 In this play reggie reads that the ss is unblocked and that cutting the run inside gave him a better chance at a first down than cutting it outside.

Its easy to find counterexamples but fact ist most replays look awful where that happens. Also...I dont even agree cutting inside there was the good decision.
+ one outside rush was vs MO. lol

This one really pissed me off. Wide open outside on 3rd and 12 and cuts inside for no reason at all, almost immediately tackled.
