Maybe give ladder ranks some additional purpose. Would be cool to have some BCS Ladder bowl games at the end of the season.

Then get rid of tier and tier trophies. Pointless unless we have a tournament or something within the tier.
Actually Peeti is on to something with his post on the last page. This season of seasoned teams has had it the worst of ANY year of seasoned, Boon. So many teams ahead of us retired that we were basically thrust up into some of the top talent in J-man and Pro at a very early stage in the season, which isn't very normal. I doubt there have been many seasons where a seasoned team has played top 5 teams of j-man and top 10 teams of pro this early on in the season (I believe the #7 pro team is in range of our #1 seasoned team).
This may have just been an unfortunate season to be a seasoned team just because there are only 32 j-man and 22 pro teams, but this really does show how the ladder system can be problematic.
If you're going to keep the ladder system as is then some type of tiered tourny would be a decent mediation. Granted tournies were a promised feature since S1 so the day that happens I'll be surprised but it's still not a bad idea

Looks like the top 10 is 2-2 so far against journeyman/pro with DWC and Southside winning, then SoA and Village losing today. I can't even believe you guys drew Default Name. That's just plain fucked up.

The ladder is not very happy with me this season...Default is the 2nd team out of 3 games where we have played a team 15-20 global spots ahead of us
I wouldn't be as upset if we at least got to play one running team haha. We still haven't had the chance to start building our secondary to stop the pass yet

What is so problematic about it? It's designed to allow you compete and rank you based on ALL teams in GLB2. If you can't beat the teams ranked +/- 20 spots around you then you go down or stay in the same spot in the ladder. I think the only answer is to get rid of tier ladder ranks and you won't have as many people crying about fairness. Losing a ladder game to a team ranked 19 spots ahead of you doesn't really hurt you at all, but the potential of moving up with a win is huge.
EDIT: Just for the record, last season was absolutely brutal to DD in ladder match-ups. I lost 9 games, about 3-4 more than I've ever lost before. Just getting you ready for next season where it's just going to get harder because the gap between Vet & Journeyman is much higher than the gap between Pro * Seasoned.

The problem is that there are not as many teams anymore, which has ALL of us artificially way too high in the ladder. I don't mind having to play up a tier but when we play up a tier it shouldn't be vs a top 5 team in that higher tier.
I think a possible solution would be to drop the +-20 for seasoned and j-man teams to +-10 or 15. I would rather play the same team 3 times in my own tier than play a top 5 team in the next tier or two tiers ahead.

Remove the fencing of Sophomore and possibly even rookie teams and you won't be as high in the rankings. Teams get used to being protected for 2 seasons and then released into the big boy ladder and they don't handle it well.

Get off your horse Para
Has nothing to do with that. A journeyman top 5 in their tier shouldn't be within 20 ranks of a seasoned top 5 in their tier.
Plain and simple your just trolling here. This matter was brought and argued in season 6 as well. I was arguing against this bullshit system then and I wasn't a team owner. If you can't see the flaw in how this system is designed with an interior ranking system that means nothing and pairing against teams that are 70k sp higher then take the blinders off.
Doesn't matter how shitty or how good someone else is. 70k point builds is a ton. Especially when seasoned only has spent about what 80k total at this point vs pro spending about 150k. Up 1 tier maybe but if the system and game are so bad that a top 5 journeyman is in range of a top 5 seasoned. Something is wrong.
