It doesn't matter if you have a bunch of toughness, eventually the QB will die by end of the 1st quarter if you are doing TT right. A roll of the dice is just that. You can't win every roll over and over. A good TT spammer kills the QB within 10 mins and keeps him there.

TT does not need to get nerfed. If you want to counter it, get your QB to invest in Heart or Toughness. Passing is already to easy so this will make QBs start spending some SPs into non passing skills.

But the defense is sacrificing a blitzing LB or coverage LB for a LB/TT/High Intim guy.

Those are two skills that could be invested in but are probably under-invested in a pre-TT meta.

If QBs can't offset it without massive Heart and Toughness SP investment, then it probably need a nerf. But if QBs are complaining at 35 Heart and/or 35 Toughness, then I think data is needed at higher values. No one here thinks 35 is a high skill value.

Personally, I'm curious how it will effect my Belgarath build. I'm planning on low Toughness but high Heart with a high contract. He's already at 53 Heart as a Soph. I might max it by Vet. 99 Heart with a high contract shouldn't make him a TT target even with low morale.

But that's what testing/ open beta is all about.



He'll take 27+ morale damage from each trash talk, but recover a whole bunch from good plays too. Heart won't defend against trash talk, but can help you recover from it. He'll probably still spend the majority of the game sub-50 morale without also having high toughness.

The debate of if it's imbalanced or not is pointless, TT and similar skills should be removed from the game because they aren't fun, regardless of their relative power level.

I'm here for a football strategy game like GLB1 was, not a psychiatry simulation where all that matters are my players feelings. Why are the games even 4 quarters long when they are decided in the 1st half by morale? Let's get rid of this boring metagame and move the focus back to actual football.

Because in real life football, emotion, confidence and momentum swings play a huge role...

Those are words the media uses when they don't understand variance, but let's say I concede that argument to you, and agree that player morale does matter a lot in real football.

I would still want to remove it from GLB2, I don't think it's a fun part of the game and I'd rather spend my time on football strategy. I don't think that having it in game makes it more realistic, but I also don't value realism in games so I don't care if it does or not, I still hate morale.

Exactly...its a video game. Having moral and conditioning play a big role allows for different build types. You can't just lolcheese all the physical attributes.

Fix/balance your builds.

As a avid TT abuser, I think TT needs one of two things. Either only 1 TT LB can activate per play, or it needs to be toned down. I don't know any real football teams that can be completely demoralized after their first drive unless you turn the ball over and it goes for 6. In which case I still don't know of teams that are yet demoralized.

I like the concept of morale and all that in the game, but it has to be balanced properly. Losing up to 60 in a single play (or more probably if you did an all out blitz with nothing but TT LBs) is just ridiculous. I can see being completely drained on the extreme side of being after maybe 2-3 drives but after 2-3 plays is ludicrous.

I still like the idea of if the offense scores (or maybe even a first down) on a play where TT triggers, the morale loss is flipped into a gain. (kind of an "In your face" thing)

both of those things need to happen.

It shouldn't be able to do more than 12 morale damage in a single play, and it absolutely shouldn't be stackable. The description says it can do up to 12 morale damage. Let's make that accurate, and then re-evaluate it.

Once again, fix your builds. Invest in toughness. You guys just don't want to spend SP in toughness. This actually HELPS keep the absurd, high scoring, high completion % offenses in check.

We're Trash Talking with the best of them right now. It needs to be brought in line with it's description. Air Raid's 11-0 so far, and a big part of why is that we've suddenly got a badass defense thanks to the free agent market handing an already blitz-heavy Adderfist defensive scheme the keys to the kingdom.
