So much bitch in this thread.

What surprises me is teams wanting to play in an easier league? Where is the fun in cruising to a gold gif? It is competition that makes it fun, and the only reason to play this game is fun right? I was a bit concerned when Alpine was moved from Grizzly, the best league in the game, to Osprey, a league with every team ranked 100+. Luckily, the strength of the teams was much stronger than the ranking indicated due to the ELO ranking issues with the leagues created mid-season. The season has turned out to be great fun due to solid competition. If we had been cruising through, I would quickly have lost interest.

This is no hating or bitching:
A Top 5 Team with barely Top 50 Teams is still not that competitive. Would have been more competive with a maybe Top 20-30 Team instead of you. But thats just the league System, so thats how it works
Grizzly was beastly...Was really hoping to challenge you more with SoA this year in the division

The ranking of mid-season teams are still flawed. Detroit beat us in divisional play and it was within one score in the playoffs, and I think MoD is even better and will be a top 25 team next season. Tampa that we are playing in the finals are at 21 despite the erroneous ranking start. These teams are just as good as any top 10 we have played this season with the exception of Carolina (they are just that much better than us). Just take a look at Detroit that are easily handling Portland Ronin in scrims or MoD killing DD.
When that is said, I think it is more luck than anything that we have been top 3 for most of the season. I don't think that we really are on the level of teams like Sunday, DD and the others. Maybe that is why I feel top 25-50 teams are as competitive as the top 10 ones.

You dont need to tell me that as I am an owner of an Mid Season team as well
But it has nearly been sorted out, yet. So I think current ladder ranks are pretty good

It's getting there.
For us midseason 1 teams it has been a little bit of a journey, but definitely starting to shake out now. I do think it is still a bit flawed, but not as much as it was. I was saying the same thing Cav was saying a few weeks ago, but I think the top 25 has definitely worked it self out somewhat over those weeks.
But without a doubt there are probably a group of teams that had build plans that really haven't come to fruition yet, and with some teams folding and merging players, I am sure there will be some movers next season from the latter part of the top 50 into the top 20/10.

My agenda was not in any way to complain about the rankings or brag about the league we are in. It was more to say that competition is fun (even if peeti doesn't think we have enough

Mhhh, still disagree. Iowa already broke the top 10 at start of Season 2. So if you, me or any other Mid season Team were a true Top 10 Team, we would be there, as we had less compition in the ladder. We are not, so that says all IMO. Still good teams, just not great. But again, just my 2 Cents

Completely agree with that, loved having a competitive league this year, and hate that a couple good teams are leaving!!!

Not sure if I am following you here. But if you are saying that our teams are not true top 10 teams because we aren't there and had less competition, I disagree on both ends.
First, playing better teams helps your ladder ranks, so when you are playing teams at the bottom half of the top 100-150 (like we did early this season) it is difficult to move up.
Second, (Although this will undoubtedly change as the day moves on and more teams play) we are currently number 10, and one more League/Ladder win and we are solidly a top 10 team.

what's wrong with it? legacy lost two close games that would've put them in the playoffs, one to a 9-5 team. if you can't beat a 9-5 team to get in the playoffs, you shouldn't be in the playoffs. like, this is what i don't understand.
if legacy is bitching about not making the playoffs because they're stuck behind two better teams, what's the point? so they make the playoffs instead of bangar, and they get crushed instead of bangar. you have to beat the best at some point to win your league, who cares if it's in week 12 or week 15? if they had 4 shots at the two best teams, and went 1-3, they deserve to be exactly where they are.
So losing to a 9-5 team means you shouldn't be in the playoffs but being said 9-5 teams makes your playoff resume legit?
As for going 1-3 against the teams ahead of us. We got destroyed in week 1 by Portland. They were the first true run team we faced and that loss helped me find where our D needed to be fixed. The loss against OK in Week 2 was close. In the Portland rematch we missed 2 FGs (and we can all agree that kickers suck at this point). If we made either, who knows how OT would've gone.
I have no doubt a 3rd game against Portland would be as competitive as the second game. Whatever, though.

you're thinking about this too much,
don't let it get to you McMan! You've lost your last 4 ladder games in a row.

I'm gonna pull a Jampy here...I wish I would've put in a decent defense against Providence. Damn 5:00am ladder games. The other three I have no excuses for. lol
If I'm not careful, we'll fall far enough to have to play AGDTD, amirite?

I think you would have needed more than a "decent" defense to overturn a 30+ pt shellacking.
