You had a good idea until you said Zorp shouldn't have joined in because they were a rookie team playing against basically sophomore teams. When, it shouldn't have mattered in the first place because they were still champions of their league regardless of their reset. They had to get an invitation and they accepted it. If you accepted their loss, everything would have continued as normal. That is what I've picked up from this Tourney thread.

the Zorp that Tampa beat earlier is not the same Zorp that won their league...
It would be cool if they replaced the entire squad with new players (since that s a strategic move to improve the squad, I consider it the same as recruiting new joes), however a completely new team, that who knows would have won the league or not (don't mistake this as me doubting Zorp's ability) does not represent whatever disbanded league Zorp came from.

If you don't see the problem (Of course I wouldn't be suprised), but I do.
