I can't explain how dumb you are if this is your argument. Just because one team or two teams from OPL Alpha weren't terrible doesn't mean the Conference overall wasn't far inferior. ffs, your team won every game but 1 during the regular season by more than 30 points. You won your 2nd round playoff game by more than 80. GCV played the entire regular season winning by 20 or more in every game except against you guys, and then won playoff games by 70, 60, and 62 points, lol. Are you seriously arguing that OPL Alpha wasn't terrible?

EEPL Zeta on the other hand, the winner was Kaunas who played 8 regular season games within 30 points and every playoff game as well. Minsk, who is irrelevant to this argument even played 6 games within that margin of error and EEPL Alpha is much less deep.

The point is that comparing two different Conferences as a determining factor for something substantial like promotion to the WL is a terrible, terrible idea. Oh, and if you seriously think OPL Alpha isn't one of the worst Pro level Conferences (APL Lion is pretty bad too), then you're fooling yourself.

I never said OPL Alpha was good. I said EEA beat Minsk twice. Minsk won EEPL. I was only mentioning that regardless of how good our conference was or who we played to go 16-0, it's not like they (bort) just picked some scrubs off the street.

No, I don't think comparing different leagues is best when used to promote and I wasn't doing that, only meaning that we're a good squad and there is no reason to throw us under the bus. If anything we've gotten screwed because after we lost in CCG we went out and recruited a team full of day 340's.

I don't think that was simply his argument.

The fact remains we got asked to be here, we responded and we are here.

I agree with those that have posted that these things (gutting/promotion after the fact) should be clearly laid out and defined for all to know. Surely, that would have changed a great many things about how I handled my team's off season.

But alas, i was asked if we wanted to promote up, and I can't imagine any competitive person saying no to that.

We'll do our best with what we have and the worst that can happen is we get pushed back down to Opro.

Either way, we'll be a better dotball team for it.
