hey guise, check out this song with a boring melody, bland indistinguishable guitar riffs (doesn't even really have any riffs, just strummed chords!!!) and middle school lyrics. this band must really suck!!!!

Not even remotely a valid point. That's like comparing a wooden plank and a navy battle cruiser - they both float so they must be great for total war!
Look - the reason why people hate Nickelback is because they are the most packaged, prepared, and calculated marketing project on the face of the planet; not even Fed-Ex plans their routes as carefully as Nickelback's management does. Nothing that band does is done in the realm of creativity or originality; it's all constructed to fit a predetermined image and sound formula that even Berry Gordy would be envious of.
Here is an example of how repetitive Nickelback's music is:

Here's some examples of bands that are fresh and original (which Nickelback is not):

Listen to what creativity sounds like and discover how truly full of shit Nickelback is.
This is the only post you're getting from me because obviously you're a trolling idiot and me doing this is possibly just as retarded, but I couldn't stand idly by while you spread ignorance and stupidity.Listen here son...When I was 8, it was 1992. My favourite bands? Guns'n'roses, Poison, and Motley Crue. Hearing Pearl Jam a few years later changed how I look at music. made me realize why a band could be as good as they are. that band was my world. Ten was fantastic. Vitalogy being their epic. (released a bit later actually)
The next say, 6 years, was crap. everything was lame pop punk, and rap metal. THen nickelback came out with that first ep, and bam, it was like a wake up call to modern music. Here was everything that Pearl Jam was doing, times a million. they perfected it. that style that so many people tried and couldn't do (who I am still a fan of, default being an example), nothing matched Nickelback. i stayed with them for a long time. from their beginning, to the peak of their popularity.
The reason I love Nickelback too, is because i know they'll never sell out their image, or their awesome brand of high voltage grunge inspired hard rock. They won't change bud. and if they did? yeah, I probably wouldn't like as much anymore. but being that i've been passionate about this music for about 15 years now, i think i know what I like. I know you think what you listen to is cool, but guess what? I guarantee you if HALF of your "underground" bands got famous, you wouldn't be listening to them anymore. because in your closely knit group of indie freaks, an oath is intact: NEVER LIKE ANYTHING THAT IS MAINSTREAM. its like comforting to be a non comformist. it's hypocrisy at it's best.
DOn't judge me because I like a band that you don't. 'Cause I can assure you that alot of people probably despise the bands you listen to
