I think that could be a little bit of it. I don't know how good your builds are, but that's extremely important, yalls levels are competitive within the league. Game planning and running the offensive and defensive AI is a HUGE part of success. I'd say that the biggest keys to being successful are those two things: having solid builds and great game planning. My immediate recommendation would be to find a truly talented DC and OC to start building your AI and adjusting your depth charts based on builds, I think once you've got all that sorted out you'll start to see closer scores and can go from there.

Saipan Fighters turn things around after a tough overtime loss to the Brisbane Gods and get an upset against a determined Co-op City Blitz. The three turnovers in the first quarter against the Blitz gave the Fighters the upper hand as the controlled time of possession. With the Fighters offense holding the ball for over half of the game it did not give the Blitz enough time to get the lead at the end. With this win it moves the Fighters up two spots in the Zeta conference to tenth place. Saipan has not bee in the top ten since season one and the team and fans are very excited about it. It leaves the door open for Saipan to try and sneak into the playoffs like they did in season one to get into the Championship Game.

The Rawle Tech Titans have a tough schedule ahead of them facing three of the top five teams in the Zeta conference. They are going to have to play hard to finish better than a 7-9 record.

The Melbourne Thorny Devils look to finish with a 500 record. The rest of their season is a 50/50 shot and they are looking to pull off some upsets to make sure they make the playoffs.

The Tongan Crimson Auha look to finish the season strong and hopefully make a 11-5 record at the end of the race. Keeping them in the playoffs.

The Fiji Stingers are going to have to take the rest of the season very seriously if they want to make the playoffs. They have a tough road ahead of them with everyone they are facing having something to prove. The Blitz are looking to knock them down a notch for what looks like a bumpy ride to the playoffs. Fiji could end up 9-7 if not careful.

The Saipan Fighters with an upset of the Blitz are feeling pretty confident for the end of the season and with the four teams above them with a lot to lose, things could look very good for Saipan. With probably the easiest chances of winning the majority of their last game, compares to the four teams above them, they could really sneak into the playoffs.

Favored against the Big Island Growas, expect the Saipan offense to shine in this game and the defense to really stifle any attack the Growas might have.

With the Melbourne Thorny Devils having four pretty easy games heading into the Kamakazi Pit to face Saipan, they may be to relaxed and not prepared to face what the Fighters have in store for them.

The toughest team Saipan will face at the end of the season is going to be the IC Incinerators. Don't expect the IC Incinerators to lay down in this one even with them already making it into the playoffs. Watch this game closely - it would be an absolutely great upset for Saipan if they can pull the trigger when the need to.

After the first two wins of the season Nauru Tiger Sharks have fallen apart and it doesn't look good going into the end of the season. Saipan should have another good game on both side of the field. The Nauru Tiger Sharks will be lucky to get a third win this season.

The Cleveland Dawg Pound have only won against the weakest team in the league, Don't expect to much of a challenge for the Fighters in this one. The best odds for the Dawg Pound will be against the Emerald City Flying Monkeys to finish off with 2 wins on the season.

The Auckland Flames have been struggling like Saipan over the last few seasons. A big upset last game proves that they do belong in the league and are looking to finish off strong with a string of victories know one saw coming. Will it be enough to get by Saipan? The Fighters say no and are determined to put this one in the bag.

If Saipan can continue to improve look for them to finish off strong, get an upset against the IC Incinerators and finish off the season at 9-7, just enough to get into the playoffs. And if this happens look out Oceania Pro League - The Fighters will be gunning for all of the heavy hitters.

What will happen over the course of the next six games? Stay tuned....

This is a must win for Saipan today. After the shocking loss to the Growas by a gutsy move by the Growas coach in the 4th quarter the chances are slipping away. With less than two minutes remaining by going for it on 4th down and 4 inside their own 20 the Growas surprised the Fighters defense and got seven yards. It could have been in the bag if Saipan would have stopped them. That is the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Today against the Thorny Devils, Saipan must bring everything they have and lay it on the table. If they lose today all playoff chances are gone. It is going to be rough getting to the playoffs with a 8-8 record. The Thorny Devils are trying themselves to make the playoffs so look for a great battle today. Who will muster enough to pull in the victory? Stay tuned....

agreed - I think the Fighters will be fighting for a playoff spot next season. Well run, well recruited, well built, well managed. With full chemistry and a season of really good experience under your belts, I'd call Saipan a dark horse for season 6.

Season 5 ends in disaster as the Thorny Devils had their way with the Fighters and knocked them out of the playoff race. And with that loss fans the plans are being made for season 6.

With the early retirement of linebacker Thunda From Down Unda and the announcement from strong saftey Hardy Knox of his planned retirement the Fighters realize the need for new faces in the locker rooms. The season also ended for cornerback Allen Rossum and offensive tackle The Man-Beast as Fighters as they move on to new teams. Once again you can hear the nerves of owner/coach comicfanman in the halls of the headquarters late at night as he pounds beer after beer down in frustration. Statement from comicfanman: "I thought we had a shot this season at the playoffs. We couldn't get out of the gates early enough against some teams we should have beat and in the last two showings we couldn't muster enough to get two wins that we really needed."

With twenty nine contracts signed already into season 6 the Fighters are trying to keep thing together in the locker room. "We don't want to many new faces in here next season. We have a great bunch of guys that are very talented and can really compete in this league. We just need to get our chemistry and morale between players in line with each other out on the field so we can work like a finely tuned machine. We are very close and season 6 we have some great potential." stated the newly acquired quarterback John Fourcade in a interview after the last game.

There are six key team members that are currently holding out and weighing their options for season 6 and if they decide not to return it may cause some interesting challenges for the coaching and recruiting staff. That is three from each side of the ball that will make a difference in season six. Hopefully these guys will return - Can't Get Right, Hop And Bop, Catch Anything, Mondo Speed, AJ tackle, and CHRIS HIT.

With six defensive back positions open for season 6 as of right now, will the coaches be able to bring in the right talent? Or will season 6 bring a new threat that Saipan will have to worry about? The PASS

Stay tuned....

It has been sometime since we last reported on the Saipan Fighters and there has been a lot of interesting things happening in the league. The biggest news of the Oceania Pro Leagues as everyone know is the plans of the sale of the Rawle Tech Titans at the end of season five. A tough loss for the League overall but a sigh of relief to some of the teams they have beaten up on over the last several seasons. It was a tough decision by the owner especially after an awesome win last game.

As far as the Saipan Fighters, they seem to have secured most of their offense for season six. On the other hand owner comicfanman is dealing with the bad news as three more of his starters from the defense moving on in season six. Mondo Speed, AJ tackle, and CHRIS HIT have all decided to move on and try their luck elsewhere for the next season. This news brings big holes to the Fighters' defense that is already short staffed. There will be a scramble at the end of the season to fill in the DT, DE, LB, CB and SS positions that are open. Ten roster additions is not going to be an easy task in a tough Oceania Pro League.

Where will the rebuilt defense lead Saipan next season? Stay tuned...

Well Saipan fans here we go again. Another season down and another losing record. On the other hand with a victory over the Auckland Flames that will make 3 wins in a row and a good way to finish the season. Auckland is not going to go down with out a fight so watch for a great game. Saipan will have to stop QB Quentin Fisher who had a pretty good season with 3000 yards passing in a 2 win season thus far. With the DB situations at Saipan it could be a long day. Look for a air to air battle with both teams focusing on the pass. Who will get the bomb to destroy the other team? Stay tuned....
