Game recap:

Oh, The Places You'll DOT!
A Seussical Postgame Story from the Gridiron Gabbery Hour

Gather around, all you football folk, you thinkers, you dreamers, you laughers who joke!

Tonight we watched a marvelous plot between the Coach Kline DOTS of Daring and Dreaming and the Rome Rumble-Yumble Gladiator Yaks.

And though the Yaks ran fast. Though the Yaks ran free. The DOTS showed us all what persistence can be.

For this wasn't a tale of just a team that led first.

It was a tale of a team that refused to be cursed.

The game began slowly on a field full of doubt.

Three-and-outs wandered and punt teams came out.

The Yaks couldn't move. The DOTS couldn't score.

It seemed every defender wanted more and more.

Passes were tipped. Runners were stopped.

Every promising drive seemed destined to be chopped.

Yet the DOTS kept marching.

Not perfectly, mind you.

But champions are seldom made by what they can't do.

They're made by the times when the road disappears, and they keep on moving through whistles and fears.

The first points arrived on the toe of a boot.

A field goal sailed through.

A small but mighty route.

3-0 DOTS!

Not flashy. Not loud.

But enough to make hopeful the faithful crowd.

Then came a thunderous Yak-sized surprise.

A quarterback keeper erupted before everyone's eyes.

Sixty-two yards!

What a galloping sight!

The Yaks sprang ahead and took hold of the night.

Soon another grinding touchdown followed the run.

And before long the scoreboard read:

Yaks 14, DOTS 3.

A mountain stood tall before Coach Kline's crew.

The sort of mountain many teams never climb through.

But listen closely.

This is where places are found.

Not when you're soaring.

But when you're down.

The DOTS could have folded.

They could have bent.

They could have decided the evening was spent.

Instead they stitched together a drive full of nerve.

The kind of drive contenders believe they deserve.

Marc Gagne found the paint.

The kick split the sky.

The DOTS drew closer and narrowed the why.

At halftime they trailed 14-10.

But they had just begun.

The journey wasn't over.

It had scarcely been run.

The third quarter arrived like a path through the hills.

Not glamorous. Not easy. Just grit and strong wills.

The DOTS chipped away.

A field goal here.

A stop over there.

Every tackle whispered:

"Stay in the game. Stay there."

The Yaks still led.

The challenge remained.

But the DOTS were slowly getting themselves trained.

Then came another Yak sprint.

Another dazzling dash.

Thirty-two yards of lightning and flash.

The Yaks stretched the lead.

The clock kept its beat.

And many thought then that the DOTS were beat.

But oh, what a lesson the DOTS had to teach.

Sometimes the dream is just barely in reach.

Then one play changes everything.

One throw. One spark.

One receiver finding daylight in the dark.

Marc Gagne broke loose for a fifty-four-yard score.

And suddenly belief came knocking once more.

Earl Brooks later found the end zone too.

The comeback was no longer something they might do.

The comeback was happening.

Right there.

In plain view.

While the Yaks searched desperately for one final answer, the DOT defense became a tremendous dancer.

They bent.

They battled.

They chased.

They swarmed.

And every storm the Yaks created, the DOTS somehow weathered and warmed.

The Yaks moved the ball late.

They hurried.

They pressed.

But the DOTS stood tall through the final test.

And that brings us to the heart of tonight's story.

Not merely a victory.

Not merely the glory.

But a reminder of where the best journeys begin.

They begin when you're trailing.

They begin when things spin.

They begin when the scoreboard says maybe you're through.

And you answer back:

"I don't think that's true."

So tonight's tale belongs to the:

Coach Kline's Daring DOTS of Destiny

A team that trailed.

A team that climbed.

A team that refused to let circumstance decide.

They found field goals when touchdowns hid.

They found courage when the Yaks looked big.

They found answers when the questions grew.

And step by step they pushed on through.

Because the places you'll go aren't always found at the start of the road.

Sometimes they're found when you're fourteen-to-three behind, carrying a very heavy load.

And if you keep believing... keep fighting... keep making each play count...

You may just discover that championships are built one determined DOT at a time.

Final Score
Coach Kline's DOTS 27
Rome Gladiator Yaks 24

And as the celebration echoed into the night, the announcer smiled and said:

"You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sights! You'll join the high fliers who soar to great heights!

And tonight, my friends...

those high fliers were the DOTS." 🏈✨

We targeted that weakness in our last game, two wide open WRs for TDs and dropped both times!

🏈 ALPHA PEE WEE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP PREGAME SHOW

Sin City Bulldogs vs Hartford Bouncing Pickles

INTRODUCTION

Butt-Head: Heh-heh. Welcome back to playoff football and stuff.

Beavis: Yeah! Football rules!

Bender: Welcome, meatbags. Today's game features bulldogs and pickles.

Butt-Head: One of those sounds cool.

Beavis: And one sounds delicious.

Bender: Both scored a million points this year, which is all I care about.

Beavis: Yeah! Scoring! Teams that score rule!

Butt-Head: The Bulldogs scored a ton and hardly let anybody score on them.

Beavis: That's kinda selfish.

Bender: The Pickles scored over twelve hundred points. That's the kind of reckless offensive behavior I admire.

Beavis: Heh-heh. You said offensive.

GAME PREVIEW

Butt-Head: Last week the Bulldogs scored one hundred and seventy points.

Beavis: One hundred and seventy?!

Bender: That's not a playoff game. That's a public execution.

Beavis: Were there even any defenders?

Butt-Head: Heh-heh. I don't know Beavis. Maybe they forgot to show up, or something.

Bender: Their running backs combined for enough rushing yards to travel across several states.

Beavis: That's awesome.

Butt-Head: Not as awesome as Hartford's quarterback.

Beavis: The Big Dill.

Butt-Head: Heh-heh-heh.

Beavis: Heh-heh-heh-heh.

Bender: You're both idiots.

Butt-Head: Heh-heh. Dill.

Bender: Fine. That's actually a pretty funny name.

Beavis: Could you imagine getting tackled by a giant pickle?

Butt-Head: I bet you'd like that, wouldn't you Beavis.

Bender: Hartford can score through the air and on the ground. That's why they're dangerous.

Beavis: Which team scores more? Yeah, yeah, I like teams that score. Like, if the whole team could score.

Bender: That's literally the entire question.

TEAM PROFILE: SIN CITY BULLDOGS

Butt-Head: Bulldogs are cool because they look angry all the time.

Beavis: Yeah. They look like they just got out of detention.

Bender: Their running backs are football mutants.

Butt-Head: Seriously. One guy rushes for almost two thousand yards.

Beavis: Whoa. He's on fire! "Fire.........Fire!"

Butt-Head: Then another guy rushes for almost two thousand.

Beavis: WHOA. Yeeeaaaahhhh "FIRE!"

Bender: Most teams would kill for one running back like that.

Beavis: The Bulldogs have two.

Butt-Head: Heh-heh. Greedy bastards.

Beavis: If I was a defender and saw these dudes coming at me I'd, like, fake an injury.

Butt-Head: And that's why you'll never score, Beavis.

Bender: You'd fake an injury opening a bag of chips.

Beavis: Shut up you talking garbage can, and I will score!

Butt-Head: Their defense only allowed tiny amounts of scoring.

Beavis: I don't like that.

Bender: Why?

Beavis: Because scoring is cool.

Butt-Head: That's actually a good point.

TEAM PROFILE: HARTFORD BOUNCING PICKLES

Beavis: PICKLES!

Butt-Head: Calm down, dumbass.

Beavis: No way. Their quarterback is named The Big Dill.

Bender: That's still ridiculous.

Butt-Head: Forty-nine touchdown passes.

Beavis: He's like the king pickle.

Bender: Hartford also has The Dill Dozer.

Beavis: That's the coolest thing ever.

Butt-Head: No it's not. Bulldozers are cool. Pickles are dumb.

Beavis: You're dumb.

Butt-Head: Shut up, Beavis.

Bender: This team ran for over six thousand yards.

Beavis: SIX THOUSAND?!

Butt-Head: That's more yards than you've run your whole life.

Beavis: Hey!

Bender: The Pickles can score from anywhere.

Beavis: That's beautiful.

UPCOMING GAME ANALYSIS

Butt-Head: Alright. Bulldog defense versus Pickle offense.

Beavis: Sounds like lunch.

Bender: The Bulldogs want to make this ugly, like Fry.

Butt-Head: Yeah. Hit people. Run the ball. Score.

Beavis: The Pickles wanna score too.

Bender: Excellent analysis.

Beavis: Yeeee-ahh. Thank you.

Butt-Head: The Bulldogs score with giant running backs.

Beavis: Heh-heh, giant dogs scoring. Yeah.

Butt-Head: The Pickles score with, uh, giant pickles.

Bender: Not technically true.

Beavis: But maybe. They like start bouncing, and then, someone tries to grab them, and they bounce some more, and then they keep bouncing and keep scoring, and the more they bounce they more they score.

Bender: Fair enough.

Butt-Head: Whoever scores more will probably win. Hey Beavis, I bet both of these teams have score with your mom.

Beavis: Shut up dill hole, heh heh, dill.

Bender: I've worked with robots smarter than you and they're toasters.

KEYS TO THE GAME

Bulldogs

Butt-Head: Give the ball to your monster running backs.

Beavis: Then score.

Bender: Correct.

Butt-Head: Shut down the Pickles.

Beavis: Then score some more.

Bender: I hate that he's accidentally right.

Pickles

Beavis: Throw touchdowns.

Butt-Head: Run touchdowns.

Bender: Avoid mistakes.

Beavis: More touchdowns. More scoring.

Bender: Yes, Beavis. More touchdowns.

PREDICTIONS

Beavis: Ummmm... I don't know Bender. The Pickles have The Big Dill and The Dill Dozer. That's incredible. I'm taking Hartford because they're funny and they score a bunch.

Butt-Head: You're an idiot. Bulldogs are tougher. Bulldogs would eat pickles. Bulldogs win.

Beavis: Shut up Butthead. Just because you say the Pickles are dumb, and the Bulldogs are going to score more, doesn't mean, the Pickles won't score even more.

Bender: I'm taking the Bulldogs. Their defense scares me and their running game punishes defenses like they owe money to the mob.

FINAL PICK

Bulldogs win 21-17

SIGN OFF

Beavis: Go Pickles!

Butt-Head: Bulldogs.

Bender: Gambling wins.

Beavis: Hey Butt-head, do you think if we played football we'd, like, score too?

All: HEH-HEH-HEH!
