Man, that playcall from Asau in that situation was Belichikian in its hyper-aggressiveness. He went once against the Colts late in the 4th quarter, I think, inside their own 20 if I remember right.

Sports radio around here gave him SO much crap for that. It was 2009 ... 4th and 2 on their own 28, with a 6 point lead. Tons of people calling it the worst coaching decision of his career. They got 1 yard, and Manning threw a 1 yard TD to go up 35-34 a minute or so later.

Flip side of the coin, Peyton had just scored twice. 79 yards on both drives, under two minutes off the clock on both of them. Punting away with a gassed defense that had just given up two quick scores to make it around 70 yards instead of 30? I feel like the statistics probably said going for it on 4th was a better proposition.

The Monday morning arm chair QBs on sports radio would've been calling him a genius, IF it had worked. Apparently on the 3rd and 2 before it, Bill had told them they were going for it twice, and if they couldn't get two yards in two downs, they didn't deserve to win.

I liked the call honestly, even if it didn't work out. I too am old.

It was a dump off to Faulk. He rounded the route off and Brady was backpedaling because the O-line caved, which caused the pass to be high. Faulk climbed the ladder and double clutched it, but because he was extended he didn't get any forward progress. If the Route was little better, the protection a little better, or the throw a little lower, that would have been a first down.

Fwiw Comets didn't "throw" the first 4 it looks like.

And tis my own fault Sno lost wk3/wk4 since I left two blocking wr off the offensive depth chart (was loading the wrong DC on tactics calendar, derp).
