No, I mean First Strike. High snap reaction means his receivers are 4 yards down the field before the defender even moves. That puts them in trail technique pretty quickly and I assume breaking the backpedal is a trigger for the QB to consider them "open," thus preventing him from holding the ball.

Just a theory, though.

I just watched about 10 plays and I saw First Strike fire one time on his left TE and on no other players. However, he must put a ton of snap reaction on his players. Watch his TE on this play. He gets a jump like that on about half the plays.

S* TE Legolas with 100 Snap Reaction

without First Strike: https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/782868/869254?player_id=339195

He's at the 10yd marker at Tick 28.

with First Strike: https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/782868/869844

He snaps at Tick 4.5 and hits 10yds at Tick 26.5-27.

Now depending on the play and his route, it can take him as long as Tick 34. So there's a range.

High Snap (100) with First Strike forces Footwork & Balance checks.

And just think: He's not at full Conditioning yet. He's not at his full Sprinting or Quickness yet either. (Though he's reasonably close,)

Like on this play, my S* TE doesn't get to the marker until Tick 36, but my BTE gets there by Tick 30.

Morale hit.

I sent Cdog an email detailing it a few weeks ago. I'm expecting a hot fix or at least a fix next season.

"Broken OP" or "Broken Not Working?" Or... both?

The Morale hit on Defenders isn't happening. As best as I can determine.

The effect takes lands if the First Strike Player has a Snap Reaction > the Target player.

The WR has 98 Snap. This is a Rookie pickup game. It's the first play of the game for both (WR1 & CB1) of these players.

Neither CB1 nor ROLB take a Morale hit. I can't believe that either has 98 Snap on a Rookie CPU build.

I don’t see how first strike would be useful on anything that doesn’t line up near the LoS.

At least on the line you know someone has to be affected. I’ve tried FS on DBs and realized it did nothing besides improve snap reaction so I’m under the impression that “nearby” has to be taken literally.

It's possible you could argue that the CB1 is at the 8 yard distance and thus not "within" 8 yards. However, to me that's cheap. The Defense is playing a standard 4-4 setup. The CB1 should be closer to the line of scrimmage than 6 yards. It's First and 10 at the beginning of the game, in a running formation.

But...

If that is the case, why didn't it land on the ROLB? He's 4 yards off the line of scrimmage; 6 yards away from the WR. Okay, there's a small angle but is the distance really over 8 yards?

And if in the end this is the case, can't CDog or Bort just simply state that? I'll add it to a TE and do the same tests.

I might test my players. We have First Strike on some of our linemen and TE. They definitely lineup within 8 yards of a defender.
