We all enjoy the game obviously. And we know it's not free to run. But as you're seeing, your customers will care far less about why they are spending so much if the DEVs had some kind of communication about it. Keep some kind of communication, responses, to keep your spending customers around and work with us on how to promote your game. Otherwise, what do we tell someone? "Hey, no big deal the game is fun, uses a ton of your time and costs far more than any other game you've played. Also more complicated to catch on. But please come spend "x" amount of dollars and don't leave"

For a game of this type, the lack of solid mobile apps hurts its market reach, and micro-transaction income. Nearly every browser game of the past has integrated mobile. Though obviously the cost of making a solid app is probably the issue.

We do advertise on Facebook, fwiw.
Agree that advertising helps to bring in new users.

I wonder if we dont see it because we already like the page? I dont think I've ever seen it pop across my newsfeed.

I don't know anything about computers/servers. but it does seem that y'all run too many Dev Lg teams with usually only 1-5 dots on them ever. Maybe you meant human owned teams, but the Dev Lg teams might be low hanging fruit.

Well i found out about this game through facebook... maybe you need to broaden the horizon by advertising on instagram and twitter... and actually get a mobile app.... make it easier for users to play the game....

A mobile app would be good, but that gets super expensive. I'd try to figure out lowering server cost first.

People are putting a lot of faith in a mobile app. The mobile app stores have literally thousands of apps released every day, and Apple doesn't even give new apps any kind of visibility anymore.
Unless the suggestion is to drop millions that we don't have making ads with A-list celebrities that we can't afford, the only people who would see and download the app are the people already playing. And most mobile browsers work well enough...I'm on my phone right now.

This. Talk about this more.
Why is server cost so high? Why does server cost scale proportionately with the number of teams?
Because simming games takes a monstrous amount of processing power.
As lolsprites as the replay may look, the actual simulation is running advanced pathfinding algorithms for every player on the field as well as physics calculations every tenth of an in-game second. More teams means more games means more processing power.

That's kinda harsh.
I don't think anyone was suggesting to do multi million dollar commercials with a-list celebrities. People are only trying to help because we enjoy this game and want it to grow, not go away. There are ways to advertise without dumping millions into it, small businesses do it everyday.

this is only true if the servers can keep up. However IF they switched to a subscription system they would want to balance out their current situation for at least a season so they can determine how to deal with growth.

Well, that's kind of what the "I've never seen any ads" comments are hinting at. You're not going to see GLB2 ads in place of Clash of Clans ads. They're spending tens of millions every month on ads. While our Facebook ads have helped bring in some new users, it's apparently not enough.
Web based small business advertisement is social media presence. Of which we have 200 followers.
