I'd like to see some global kicking data. From the games I have watched, FG kicking has went from awful to atrocious. People always complained about FG kicking before and it's worse now than it's ever been.

No one foresaw this.

No one.

You can place the blame squarely on my defense. We're like the 2014 Dallas Cowboys. Losing games when we put up 400-500+ yards because I can't stop a mosquito fart from crossing the 1st down marker.

Lol, I wonder what their response will be to this now? Are Kicker skills going to become much cheaper, or will they continue to pretend they made the right choice by ignoring any of the important problems in the game to fix something that absolutely 0 people had complained about.

Also, I think this is relevant.

This is the Kicker he posted.
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/92143

So far in Vet he's made 78% of his field goal attempts and Kicked 0 TB's with an average Kickoff distance of 63.5 yards... or to the 7 yard line.
Pretty shitty, but still acceptable so long as you don't kick past 50 yards, of which hes made 2 at the Vet level.

And here is my Seasoned Kicker that I complain so much about him losing us games (he's lost us 2 games so far this season, and forced a Tie by missing FG's).

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/185428

Average KO Distance of 64 yards, and a woeful 8 of 19 FG's (42%) and we rarely even attempt FG's longer than 46 yards, and his longest make in a league or ladder game is 39 yards. At this point, we might as well go for it on every 4th down thats too close to punt... except we can't because we're not allowed to.

On the plus side, all of these close punt attempts have really boosted my Punters Coffin Corner stats as they seem to try coffin corners more often the closer they are to the end zone.

The Kicker changes may suddenly make Punt Accuracy an actually important skill, which kind of sucks since no one has built a Punter focused on accuracy in a couple seasons because P's rarely ever seemed to attempt Coffin Corners. Which brings up the question, why don't Punter's attempt Coffin Corners at longer distances? Why do they require a 25-35 yard range to the end zone to attempt one?

In regards to kickers, it may come down to secondary skills people don't invest in.

Last season I ran a pickup experiment with a K, and invested solely in Snap Reaction. The theory being that pressure may effect a kicker just like it would a QB, and could contribute to low accuracy. I don't have a link to that PuP anymore but the results were very good. Once I started adding accuracy, they got even better. So when we got that full-repec in the off-season, I didn't even invest in consistency, and when heavy with Snap and accuracy. So far my kickers are performing much better.

This is my sophmore kicker: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/199736

One has to wonder if balance, footwork, etc., plays a role also.

They do. Snap Reaction helps as well.

But my kicker builds stay closed.

Don't blame you, lol. Only showing mine since he's at sophomore and still early in the build.

It's an easily foreseen outcome when you make changes to an ecosystem without addressing the entirety of the situation involved. I'm sure it's pretty easy to just lop off numbers to the roster or spots but not addressing everything connected is just silly and that was my point when I spoke out against just taking a K spot away.
And the respec of points is just a hope this placates them gesture, unless you could have redone the build as a whole to fix players deep into careers with builds specifically built for the system in place for all that time.

Snap Reaction helps a small amount, but not enough to make them on par with NFL kickers.

Always thought that a FG kick was scripted and as such Snap wouldn't matter. Then again, I've done the high Snap thing on D lineman and they don't consistently move faster than O lineman. Sometimes a lot faster, most times a little faster and sometimes slower.

Snap Reaction has too much of a range (randomness) to it to justify high SP expenditures.

IMHO at least.

Too bad about that 4th quarter punt. WarriorGeneral needs to fix their end of quarter logic, I would have much rather watched ya'll miss that ~53-54 yard field goal then seen ya'll line up to punt.

GG man.

Not that they need any help, but if this is true about snap reaction with kickers, does anyone have evidence of it helping with punters too?
