I guess it would partially help if Dots wouldn't just randomly step out of bounds.

Ya'll scored the second most points anyone's scored on Tampa all season. Defenses have gotten better, but Tampa's is already better than most probably.

It's the counter. The player comes to a stop for a brief moment where it can fire.

I'm not looking at the stat line and coming away with the impression that your passing is what got your offense going

3-2-6 Dime Cover 4 Zone is a play I put in my play book recently.

It should be the play you completely build around for all-passing type opponents, tbh. I know you like your CB blitzes, but they're never going to be as effective as an ROLB based blitz scheme. It's a geometry problem. M2M also handles "fewer dudes in coverage" better than zones do. Zones are nastiest when you've got 8 zone defenders in a Cover 3 or Cover 4 type look IMO.

Yeah, but maybe the problem is this: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/397/356

Your Pass D is rated at 70. Slightly better than the average I posted earlier of the Top 20 games. Maybe the problem is Pass D builds - yours, mine and everyone else's.

Why is the presumption that it has to be the PLAY and not the BUILDS?

Isn't that at least possible?

He's admitted he's got a "blocking" HB. Run some Cover 4 zones against him. You'll force him to dump it off 30 times a game to his HBs. Then all these fancy run stuffing defenses can do what they do best, knock the piss out of his HBs for fumbles. You'll make him drive the field in more total plays, which will increase his odds of critical failure.

Scat Back - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/97539 Build has always been open. Gold Brace and Mr. Reliable. 675 touches - 7 fumbles. Go for it.

Pretty sure Cover 4 has been tried. Same with the Clouds.

Those ratings are complete crap. They wouldn't ever tell you how good a pass defense is.

We need a Cover 4, with only 2 pass rushers, and 5 guys playing Man underneath. Also a new 2 downlineman formation to use it out of

I believe none of us get the passing lolbar very high because none of us build rosters to hit the hi 90s on pass defense.

If someone builds a roster with:
6 or 7 CBs
3 or 4 Strong Safeties
3 or 4 Free Safeties

you will see 90s + with current builds.

But most rosters have 4-5 CBs / 1-2 SS / 1-2 FS

Inner City Kids is hitting 70 with only 4 CBs and only 3 Safeties (not to mention 2 DTs/4LBs - not sure they impact it or not)

right - but all these things point to plays being broken/over powered -- or more likely -- defenses being broken/underpowered.

"Here is what I'm doing...people are rarely able to stop it" means something is broken. It is as simple as that. At a quick glance - looks like you lost 7 games last season - and 7 the season before - so obviously it is beatable. My argument just continues to be 'bad for the game to be able to succeed without needing to tweak/change/scout/modify game plans' Again - I'm criticizing the game and Corndog and Bort -- not criticizing you.

the solution to balancing the passing game is not ever going to be "add more zone plays"

everyone except GE (including people who've tried it at high levels) says zone is broken. The answer to current passing defense is not 'more zones'.

Is it really a zone if there are 5 man coverage guys underneath?
