I run my QBs more than I should, I should use more goal line...OFC

If you are telling me that the best DC's in the game can't hold any of those plays under 5 YPC we should be having a new conversation.

Stunners best inside runs from 0-3 yards from first down by ypc in those four games:
sb hb slam weak 11 ypc
bi hb slam 7.0 ypc
i hb slam 6.0 ypc
weak i hb dive 5.3 ypc
sb trip hb slam 5 ypc
sb big hb slam left 5.0 ypc
sb spread hb slam 4.0 ypc
Gl hb blast 3.5 ypc

seriously your no better than the media, no facts just trowing shit out because you believe its true

Let me know when you can't hold any of those slams or dives under 5 ypc and we will continue the conversation. Until then you continue to fail at making points for yourself.

Nice to see Trojans back in some forum debates. Not sure how this one lasted so many pages, but whatever.

The lack of an outside run threat absolutely changes the goal line formation. It's probably for the best, because I don't think it was intended for teams to use goal line formation all over the field for huge gains. You can still pick up a couple yards if you need it. The one bonus is still having the ability to use off tackle rushes from the goal line formation as inside rushes.

My favorite part of this quote was where you claimed I was like the media yet you went all Fox News on me.

its even worse if i leave the criteria at 0-99 yards. Our argument was that gl still worked well in short yardage and i stated that it wasnt even a good option for short yardage. considering short yardage is 0-3 yards seemed that data from 0-3 yards sounds right to me.

Rob, Merik (or tezed dont know who actually runs that defense), and Romo couldnt stop it. The only elite dcordinators left in vet who havent played stunners yet are para, tdiddy (though hes on the fence so it could fall either side) and probably 1 or 2 im forgetting (lost a lot of elite guys to resets the last two seasons) I doubt they will have much more success.

Obviously I meant in that first down can't be short yardage of 0-3 yards and go more than 3 yards. But I knew what you meant.

This is going directly over your head I see.

I don't know exactly what you are trying to make me see that I don't already. But I am confident that some day you will make the connections with what I am telling you and the data you think is making your points.

Couldn't stop what? A slam? Who goes into a game saying I need to stop a certain inside rush? If it was that easy I would just middle overload.

It's easier to get consistent yardage from inside rushes out of everything except GL due to the defense having to compensate for the outside rush threat. Goal line is still good in short yardage due to most DC's not ever using Middle Overload vs Goal line and being able to use goal line off tackle as an inside rush...but otherwise goal line is not very sexy.

Although I am wondering if goal line defense is viable now.

Blitz C and LB Contain are ok but still a bit unreliable if the HB slips through the dline. If a team like Stunners pounds it into GL defense over and over there comes a point where you may break pretty hard. Still a lot better than they used to be. The rest of the defenses scare me as they just blitz LB's in bad spots and leave a lone SS to do the dirty work. Maybe if you only had to worry about the off tackle strong a couple of those strong side inside blitz's might be viable.
