I actually had to learn Groovy for my work but just enough to get into trouble.

Google does make it so easy and I am with CDog that though syntax/structure/practice can be taught it doesn't mean it will stick with the pupil. I sadly have this situation at work. I have a guy who seriously can't get the concept and syntaxing of a simple if/if else statements.
