5-2 Cat Blitz works pretty well if you have the d-line to support a 5-2 running.

That also doesn't work once the offense has the speed to get around the edge with blockers. It's a 4 blockers to 4 free guys. So unless there's a play made or failed it's a TD>

And in the ongoing "YPC is meaningless and QB Rollout is no more or less OP than other running plays" saga...

TxSteve's team today had a HB with 293 yards rushing, 14 ypc, and 6 TD's. That was only part of the 657 yards and 70 points his 3 HB's put up.

So obviously HB Sweep is OP, needs nerfed, and there is nothing wrong with calling Zero Blitzes against an outside running team...

Zero Edge Blitz murders QB Rollout Left from the Big I

BTW, not to pile on more overpowered stuff, but the QB pathing on that play is clearly borked. QB doesn't hesitate straight back like on the GL strong play and let the HB and FB get out in front to block at all.

All the other QB sweeps get murdered on just about everything because the QB always ends up out front, and QB running skill caps are roughly half what a HB can get.

sounds like we've found the fix for the strong rollout from GL. Fix QB pathing to matchup with the other versions

Oh, and you better do some more abusing Xav. Dexter Morgan's gonna pass up Quincy on the sophomore HOF. Compton is running my Air Raid offense

Dexter was actually ahead until today's Yorick game.

Yorick's opponent was obviously using the default goal line gameplan, and every time LB Contain came up versus any sweep, TD. I ended up with 2 HB's with over 10 ypc total because it came up a bunch, and of course, Quincy had stupid yardage against it.

LB Contain did do a decent job against the off tackle and dives tho. Maybe rename it and set it to an inside run defense or something.

Am I the only one who thinks Xav created this thread to manipulate counters to QB Rollout?

Herc had a monster day - especially for a back up. Here was my favorite play of his: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/59607/623965?player_id=56509

(point of interest - none of my yards came on GL QB roll out - and none came on GL HB sweep because I didn't run them)

The fact that there's a gimmick you can spam all day and p much get a free win any given game is bullshit whether it's Ron stoppable or not.

It's a free win against a bad or non-existant Defensive Coordinator. It's sometimes stopped, but still highly successful against a good Defensive Coordinator. It can be shutdown by a team built to stop it, but those teams in the the sophomore or rookie ranks can be counted on maybe one hand.

You don't have to build to stop it anymore than you just have to build to not get run over by any running team since goalline D is effectively separate from all your other gameplanning.

And ya, at rookie and early sophomore, it's very risky to build to stop any specialist offense since there are both good passing and rushing teams and selling out to shut down one leaves you totally unprepared for the other. Gal brought up Dexter vs. Quincy for Sophomore HOF as a great example of this as they are complete opposites at QB. Dexter has 2423.5 yards and 27 TD's passing. Quincy has 1565.5 yards and 26 TD's rushing.

Imagine if you weren't giving Jortman some of those plays!
