Look you didn't win the championship because you shut down GL QB rollout strong. So just save your ultimate barf of bullshit for your team forum reach around.

If anything, Tampa lost the game because they wasted all their time running garbage Pro set rollout plays.

It was a good game and tied 10-10 going into the 4th. But that's the point where we finally broke them with a 38 yard HB run off tackle that set up a 4 yard HB run up the middle for the go-ahead TD.

The next Yorick TD drive of the 4th was a grindy 8 play drive that finally, at 2:22 left in the game, led to Quincy breaking a run to the outside for a 22 yard TD.

The last Yorick TD was a 6 play drive ending in a 1 yard QB run up the middle.

So for those keeping score, only 1 of Yorick's TD came on a QB Rollout, and it was only 22 yards. There were a couple other decent runs from that play, but the longest play we had from scrimmage was the HB off tackle run.

If it was the game against the stallions; it was public (and based on the fact that some of the stats Xav cited were actually semi-accurate it probably was)

Yorrick's long was 28 yards.
Yorrick scored 2 TD's from the QB roll out: 22 and 7

Something like 127 yards on 15 carries - what is that 8.5 or something?

The defenses run were:
Cover 1 man under
man base
man DE flat strong

Yorricks total yards: 347

Every PvP game I have ever played had some version of this whine. Tampa had a solid strategy that they executed really well all year. I considered it a real accomplishment to win that game and I am sure as geek but taking them lightly this year.

Now that the vase breakers team has wandered into the top ten on the ladder we are facing a horde of teams that are likely better than we are. some of them feature pass plays that are basically almost impossible to stop with pressure unless you built your whole defense to do that one thing (hello bulldogs).

I am not inclined to worry about if their tactics are valid by these standards, if the bulls having 9 superstars is overpowered or not etc. Our team was built to be able to adapt to whatever we faced and do well or hopefully well enough to survive. Tampa or Yorick have to face those challenges by being extraordinary at one area.

Which approach is better? Well that's why we play the games.

While that speech was neat and all, it had nothing to do with the one play.

Man Base and Cover 1 should have never been called, I must have messed something up. It didn't matter htough as the play I wanted to run didn't do great. I've made a couple changes and I think we are going to try again tomorrow.

Yes but you have 3 owners on Darkside so things are easier to plan. When you have 30 different owners on a team (some of us like the MMORPG element) it's harder to streamline things. It just seems like a cheap play to me, I won't whine alot about it though. I'll just adopt the "if you can't beat 'em join 'em philosophy." So far I've got a QB in Soph ball averaging almost 20 ypc and leading in MVP race.

My soph QB, Quincy, is currently leading the HOF list. However, I have a more than sneaking suspicion that Dexter is going to pass him in the not to distant future on the basis of passing QB's really being more dangerous than rushing QB's. If it wasn't for the silly CPU game, it would almost certainly have happened already.

I actually quite like Xav, he just seems really biased on this.

Xav is informed on this.

Unlike the people complaining, I've seen it run lots and lots and lots. If it was so awesomesauce, it really would be the default everybody runs this offense (kinda like Dogs All Go was on defense not long ago).

Also, Xav really is moving Yorick away from the play because there is much, much more effective ways to crush a team. It's just gonna take me a few thousand SP's for everyone on the team to get rebuilt to the new Vision™.
