Yea that'd never work. Only starters would be relevant after 2 seasons if they are receiving more sps than backups

Im sorry but its like this in real life. You dont develop talent as much if you are playing Arena Football for example. The quality of the opponent increases the talent development. Thats why players want to (but not all can) play in the NFL, and not for Arena Football, or NFL Europe.
Games like Football Manager have pretty much mastered that system, but then again Football Manager is the most complex and advanced sports simulation game on the market.

Nobody wants to play games they know they are going to lose, and your suggestion means that the only teams that people would play for are teams that are winning, and over time, those teams are just going to increase the gap they have on everyone else, even moreso than is already happening.

Xav's right. This is a PvP game. You don't upset balance in a PvP game intentionally. The process of building a player and managing teams have to be balanced. The competition comes into how those equally distributed resources are utilized.
