Bort just changing the game at any point in time really bugs me. There needs to be WAY more transparency. He just decides running or passing is too hard and changes it, or guys are breaking outside runs too easy or whatever and then all of the sudden we have to figure out if our game plan is flawed or if the game changed.

One thing I see is sacking the QB. It became waaaay harder this season and I don't think we can attribute that to offseason points spending on blitz awareness. QBs get rid of it FAST. But again, did the game change or did my defensive line get worse?

Good QBs were getting the ball out from blitzes last season too - this isn't new. What's new is some of the blitz plays the players are coming from different locations, and plays that used to work very well both against the run and putting pressure on the QB no longer stop the run worth a damn.

Wasn't more that the pull back of a blitz was delayed. So if you were going to blitz instead of instant reaction to the run its more of a 'ohhh crap' I am needing to run support. If I interpret it correctly I like it as if you want to blitz the edges it should be weak against the inside run. But if you blitz inside your weak against the outside run. You can't have a catch all defense that the risk doesn't come close to the reward.

Every play has a weakness, that's the point imo.

Are you sure its good teams were good, or teams that used 'those' plays looked good. I mean builds have an effect for sure, but gameplans are still the end all be all.

If you want a game with transparency and a clearly laid out plan... Well we can always make our own

That was a part of it but a bigger part was the way the players stacked. Look at DAG vs Spread - The SS and the MLB used to stack up right in the middle, and both of them would crash the side of the line that the HB would run. The Guard could pick up one then the other would hit the HB at the line of scrimmage. Sure, if you could break that tackle you could get a big gain, but that was rare.
Now it looks like this:

Awareness doesn't matter at all, there's just one less guy in the box. I'm fine with the change, they really did need to have a vulnerability, and there's not really any "one size fits all" defensive plays right now AFAIK (remember I'm not a DC).

Big win DeepRoute Allstars, looks like Osprey league is going to single handedly keep Corndog out of the top 25

Would make sense, didn't have comparable data so thank you for that.

I never used "those plays"

That would explain your current disposition

Thanks, it was an enjoyable game to watch. More concerned with League play though, and trying to get into the playoffs.

I have my own game, and no level of transparency or a laid out plan prevents people from feeling like things are changing for them.

In competitive games, someone gets better, and someone gets worse.

Not really because I don't know what they are using. Last season when I was running games and winning, I never ran those plays.

maybe you should take over play calling again.

Nope, it's called experience. Gotta give people a chance. I'm not winning on Esen's team. I'll fuck something up on my own team and break my laptop.
