Not anymore, I've no idea what garbage they fill children with now days. Our history books have rewritten history so bad, many of today's hatreds are based on things that just didn't happen the way it's believed they did.

REVISIONIST HISTORY IS THE WORST! Every country and every race has had moments in their history that they are not proud of but hiding it or changing the consensus of why it happened is a disservice to following generations. Almost as bad as trying to be shocked by things in the past by applying todays norms!

I LIKED school... but holy crap, I've learned a metric fuck-ton more about history from my own reading and research than I EVER learned in school, both stuff that was more interesting AND stuff that was more useful.

Eh, the only way to learn from our past wrongs is to apply today's standards to them... because back then, we didn't think our wrongs were wrongs at all.

That doesn't mean the people who were committing those wrongs were automatically evil, usually just misguided. That should certainly be accounted for. But that doesn't make the wrongs themselves okay, and it's important to account for that as well.

Basically, I just want a complete-but-fair look at history. Is that too much to ask? Apparently, yes, according to modern academia.

And dammit, now I've gotten started.

Somebody find me a sucky stadium to point and laugh at.
