Lost.

Didn't let the I Phone update from my last search.

Chicken and waffles just don't seem like a good mix.

Then you have clearly never experienced the divinity of the fried chicken, waffle, and hangover triad. Any of the 2 together...meh. But when the 3 are combined...bliss.

lol, if this were true, why would we feed it to elementary/middle/high school students once a week, every week.

The US has the best fried chicken, except for maybe France.

Chicken and Waffles at 900 Grayson in Berkeley (get the cream gravy). It's called the "Demon Lover" on the menu, and it will ruin you for life.

+10

You're definitely a trailer park kind of food lover, I like to stick to the shit I know is fantastic, or pizza/buffalo wings/Hamburgers if I am unsure, and what the hell are you doing at a truck stop? I mean really? Only thing at those places are 55 yr old prostitutes and "chicken fried steak" and I want nothing to do with either of those things

lol...900 Grayson is a very fine restaurant (though it is a casual lunch and brunch venue).

I doubt there are many folks on this site who have a wider range of culinary tastes, or that spend more on fine dining than I do (though I encourage everyone to make me a liar ).

I am happy to drop 4 figures on a very advanced menu at the French Laundry or Manresa, but I'm also partial to home-style truck stop food, whether prepared by a Michelin decorated chef or the local pancake flipper.

Something prepared from reasonably fresh and unadulterated ingredients rather than processed 500 miles away...that's the key

You should find a high-end restaurant with a talented chef who puts it on the menu...I guarantee you would change your mind. But yeah, a soggy flap of meat covered in white goop is more often what you find

Me and my wife went there and for the price I was expecting Kobe beef of french food and it just wasn't my cup of tea, Oysters and Pearls, Chocolate Lobster, Field Rhubarb Sherbet, Salmon Cones fucking phenomenal, but I would rather pay 240 for a lb of high end kobe before that, I Think I drank my own bottle of faust tho and that killed the pain of missing out on another "hof package", but a 14 course meal or w/e it was - was an experience that the lady seemed to enjoy much moreOriginally posted by tautology

15 years on wall street and I have eaten at prob every higly rated restaurant in manhattan. There is some food that I'd just overpriced crap. Some that is fantastic. I have had every gimmick food, even the $100 Mac and cheese (which Is awesome by the way). The French can do some amazing things with duck, potatoes, and grapes, away from that..? Overall I would go great Italian all day long ove great French, except for desserts.
