This. Pathetic that teams run 1 play over and over again. I could've run HB Blast all game and lit up your defense easily. But I didn't want to be a pansy and do that. Our Passing plays were just as good too, but our QBs looked like shit.

I'm sorry, but after a game like that, I can't GG.

OK, so I understand being frustrated by a loss. I can also understand being irritated if someone puts in a 1 to 2 play gameplan. I also have absolutely nothing to do with the Offense, so had nothing to do with the Offensive gameplan. To be totally honest, I generally don't even watch our Offensive possessions. After reading these responses, I decided to go back and see just had bad it was. All these plays came from the first 3 drives:

It looks to me like there was quite a bit of different plays involved. Some inside running, some outside running and some passing. Now I would think, that at some point, the "auto-adjust" would kick in and zero in on the plays that are working, so maybe towards the later stages of the game it seemed like it was the same shit over and over again, but to say that there were only a few plays called is not correct.

My brother, 89stepside, says you guys are pretty decent guys, so I'm not going to get pissed off and rant about your posts, but c'mon guys. Anyways, I still think you guys played a GG.

I never thought about the AA...I wasnt singling you cc...just the offense in general.
Like i said, you guys have a hell of a defense.

Also, I learned something else, never do a defensive overhaul in the playoffs, if you didnt notice we ran a brand new defense that was weak against the inside run. I have a lot to improve upon

No problem man. I just felt I needed to pipe in with what I saw and give my perspective. I can totally feel your pain on trying a new Defense. My Defense on PAIN NATION fell apart at the end of the season, and the fixes I attempted were a complete FAIL. It's tough in peewee, because the builds continue to evolve and what worked week 5 might be horseshit week 8, and so on. Then there's just some games where it doesn't matter what you do, you can't stop anything. Just have to hope that your turn for it doesn't come in the playoffs.

Our builds aren't good at all. I wasn't singling you out either, I'm just frustrated on how the offense went given the scouting and gameplanning.

Mailmen delivered, we have a great staff and some good people building quality dots. We too felt the pain a few seasons back when we got waxed by teams who used only a few plays that work, but is it our fault only a few work? When the team was brough back to try again, we took a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach and that is what you see. Don't blame us that only a few plays work in this game, we use what we have. If you too can do this and beat us, by all means, nothing we can do but watch it happen I suppose.

just to add some more info and an explanation...


All I did was "scout" mailmen offense to determine the following information.

HB Off Tackle 12 55.5 4.63
HB Blast 11 41.5 3.77

These 2 plays were the only 2 plays that were clearly overused. All the other plays were used about 3-5 times during the game. 13 different RUN plays were used that game. 12 different PASS plays were used, no pass play was used over 3 times. The excessive amount of rushes with HB Off Tackle + HB Blast was not intentional. Auto-Adjust probably increased the likeliness of using those rush plays due to great success.


Providence Steamrollers used a total of 7 different rush plays and 10 different pass plays against the Mailmen. But because the Mailmen defense was so great, it allows the Mailman offense to have more time on the field to do their thing and keep Providence limited on play variety and on what they can do as well.

Mailmen had 3x more plays than Providence (and 3x the possession), so if you think about it that way, you will kinda understand why you saw the same play trigger 12 and 11 times.

HB Blast was used 7 times for Providence. Providence had 22 rush plays, if Providence had 65 like Mailmen, HB Blast would have been used atleast 15-20 times (in theory).


I hope this kinda sorta makes sense and adds a reasonable explanation.

Well it wasn't supposed to trigger that much, and I don't have auto-adjust but that was the only true flaw I saw in the rushing game, so I had it set higher than most of the rushes. Our passing didn't kick in like it was supposed too. But I get where your coming from more.

Umm, the reason you guys had more possession time than us was because you ran inside on every time...we got 15 minutes of offense+the morale you guys gained from it+the other plays kicking in...our real offense never saw the field in a sense.
But your ideas make more sense than the lolgm above.
