Lenovo CEO shares $3.25 million of his bonus with employees (again) after record year

For all teh time I'm talking about corporate greed, I think it's noteworthy to point out a company that gives back to their employees.

Its good to see this. Sad to say its newsworthy though, all CEOs should be like that.

I'll try to explain this properly lol

It's not that complex, you might have to open the wall behind the thub or the podium if it's installed in one so you can access the thub's mechanism. Depending on what kind of linkage is installedy ou might have to replace the linkage or if you're lucky you just have to adjust the rocker arm, maybe something is just blocking the rocker arm too. The linkage is the U-Bracket.

I figured it'd be something like that. Sounds like a project which is probably why its still broken. I need to just find some sort of gasket that I can put something on to seal it up.

thanks tho

Anyone know how to make some money on the side in a somewhat reliable manner? I have plasma donation, but that's only twice a week for a maximum $55 a week, and though I do utilize it I'd like to use it a bit less.

Landscaping work has pretty well dried up for the summer. Worked 27 of 31 days in July, the first 8 of 10 in August, and since the 10th of August, we've only gotten 2 days of work. Guess that comes with the territory of being a seasonal worker.

many stores will be amping up for the xmas season soon. for most of undergrad, I'd work landscaping/laborer positions in the spring/summer, then around sept/october I'd transition to something in retail. for a couple of years that meant a stockperson at Walmart, which completely sucked as a job, but I could rely on being able to work there in the busy season, as they are desperate for non-drooling, reliable help. my lack of on the job drool also meant that they'd keep me beyond xmas, so I could stay there until I couldn't stand it anymore sometime around april, then transition back to the summer work

Retail is big. As a college student many places will hire you.

Sort of. Not many farms larger than an acre or two but there's a few ranches about 15-20 miles out east. That could work during summer

Seems like a pretty solid plan to me. I plan to circulate applications and resumes where applicable, but does any store have a reputation for hiring more people, or paying more on start?

Go to senior center in town and put up a "will cut lawns - shovel snow - clean gutters and windows - yard cleaning" ad

You'll get work

All the big Christmas stores would be your best place to start. Places like Toys R Us hires seasonal workers in September/October and when things pick up they will hire just about anyone. I worked for Toys R Us in high school because you were basically guaranteed overtime (time and a half) if you weren't out on the floor picking your nose your entire shift. Only downside was that as you approach Christmas the store closes later and later. Back then we had the store open until 1 AM and it'd take another 1-2 hours to clean things up before you could escape. The pay was nice for a high school job that accommodated to my sports schedule, though.

Yeahh in my follow up, they basically told me to give up.

When did the protect and serve mentality turn into 'do 99% of our job, then we will go talk to someone. Even then no guarantees'?

When society as a whole decreed that there were about seventy billion OTHER THINGS to spend money on rather than adequate police forces and prisons to hold those who commit significant crimes.

Not that I disagree that we waste money, but it's important to treat the causes and not just the symptoms.
