Have to get take a drivers test to get a new license today. I lost my old one and because it was out of state and I didn't have my license number written down anywhere I couldn't replace it online. Kind of stupid on my part.

Anyone here have any experience with thefts reported to the police? I'd like to know if I can expect my items (probably not) or at least some compensation in some form

different situation from yours, but I had a laptop stolen out of my car while visiting friends out of state. filled out the report and they flat out told me that I was unlikely to ever hear from them again.

There goes your cheap big mac...

"Workers say they want $15 US an hour, which would be about $31,000 US a year for full-time employees. That's more than double the federal minimum wage, which many fast food workers make, of $7.25 an hour, or $15,000 a year."

"In a move widely seen as a boost for innovation and competition in the technology sector, New Zealand has passed a law that will prohibit the patenting of computer software."

You can't patent 0's and 1's ...

Compensation? L-O-L

Had my apartment broken into last year (TV + backpack + old iPod nano stolen) and while the police did have me fill out a statement, nothing was ever really done. They came out, poked around, asked some questions, but basically told me 'nothing worth dusting for prints' and left. They also had some bureaucratic bullshit where two different departments thought the other had jurisdiction. It was small fish for their time so nothing was done.

Dumbest thing ever is to call the police after being burglarized and be told "why are you calling us?".

ESPN needs to learn some moderation. Any time they decide to focus on a story they over-run and over-analyze the living shit out of it until I hate the very fiber of whoever it is about.

I used to really like RG3. Can't fucking stand him now. Clowney? Class act. Im starting to dislike him.

Yeahh in my follow up, they basically told me to give up.

When did the protect and serve mentality turn into 'do 99% of our job, then we will go talk to someone. Even then no guarantees'?

It is very time consuming and difficult to locate missing items without leads. It's not right, but the mentality is that they are better served using their time in other ways. Unless they get a tip, or you have an idea who did it, they won't do anything.

I see cop cars sitting about with nothing to do all the time in my city. They're lazy
