Fwiw Bort already made his millions then retired to make his weird hobby chronicles game. He keeps GLB running as a nostalgia to do right by his 2004 users, with no effort or thought to it beyond the bare minimum.

It is not an accident that zero multi's are being policed, frozen, or banned in the last real life 15 years. He simply and conclusively does not care.

This game is going to be taken down from lack of activity/players rather than lack of revenue. We are already on slow shitty servers, and individual dots still cost like $10-$15 each.

So while I understand the frustration in this thread, you're shouting into the void since the admins don't care or want to do anything, inclusive of policing multi's or updating terms & conditions, and whatever.

If I could make 20 changes that would improve GLB most, policing multi's so there's less dots (and maybe marginally more Bort cash) is not on that list. Keep in mind I've in all my seasons of GLB only had 1 multi with I think 6 dots on it total (Conq, recently). I was given like 5 multis I never will use if anyone wants them...

I mean heck, Bort identified cheaters on December 16th and then has taken seemingly no action in the last week to finish the job of the cheat clean-up so we could roll-over into a new season.

Accept the world as it is, and you will be happier. There is clearly a line Bort will intervene (entire site explodes, stat padding tanking in GLB championship, making cheater dots) but anything less is not going to change.

No argument here, just sharing my opinion as to why a dying game keeps dying. GLB isn't a big enough piece of my world to care enough to accept the way it is or not, or have my happiness impacted by it however/whenever it ends. Those currently "in power" seem resigned to and content to go down with the ship. Enjoy the ride I suppose. I just find it ironic how the groupthink (or "doublethink" if you want to go Orwellian) of a dying group leads to group justification of dubious practices for those who remain, even at levels of unimportance as low as a game like this. Oh, humans...

Look nobody is here at gun point. we chose to spend and build in this game. Some of us love this game and find peace in it. i understand there is some dirt n here and that needs to be cleaned up other then that lets build have fun drink beer. good day.

He edited the players already. Must have been an easy SA glitch. Have you not seen Mobs roster? You think he didnt check the Generals players??

You just acknowledged that we were moved to worse servers and still said that even with 20 changes you wouldn't address the revenue problem? That makes no sense. We’re not on subpar servers because of people who pay. You're not even one of the people abusing it, but one of the biggest defenders. Is there a limit in your opinion and if so what would that amount be to be considered abusing?

What’s happening now is a slow bleed. The game will continue to decline until it eventually dies, and the prevailing attitude seems to be “just stop paying and wait it out.” I like the game and don't want it to die. I want it to grow and get better, doesn't everyone?

The game should have been sold once Bort and team lost interest. I spent a significant amount of money early on, before it became clear how rampant and unchecked multi-account abuse was.

So I won’t buy flex points anymore. Not out of spite, but because it’s a poorly managed business at this point.

The game was genuinely strong for the first ~20 seasons I played. Now it’s largely propped up by a shrinking group of OG agents who mostly do not contribute financially to the game. Too late to sell it now, the brand itself has little value anymore, and honestly, a competent developer could come along tomorrow and build a significantly better football simulator from scratch.

I already spent a lot on this game, I'm staying until it's gone or the game is dead at this point. If GLB would have had a prompt before buying flex points telling me not to be one of those stupid noobs, I might have gone the multi route. It's very confusing to see ToS say something and then you hear that Bort is saying something on the side to "the 2004 users". Need to be in that cool club I guess.

Also to those who are saying the accounts are just given over. That's not necessarily true. Someone had GLB support change my password and used up my account for awhile until I came back after a few years. Still even have the support ticket where they changed my name to Anarkist. It's tremele damn you whoever did that. They even named some dots non Ethan. Yeah, still a little devastated.

Anyone what to confess, I have no hard feelings? I was pissed when I saw my flex was gone, but it's all good. Hope you had fun with it.

And Bort said things would be taken care of at season's rollover. Either the teams owned by them are wiped from existence and the players were fixed and made normal to his satisfaction or a scorched earth policy where he wipes all the accounts and players. It's Bort's decision to solve the situation as he sees fit as he is the only one to be able to see the closed builds

I think most of us agree on people's points here.

1) The game was spectacular and had a huge player base initially.
2) At some point, that died off and left Bort and Co. with no real desire to do anything (make sim changes, police multis, advertise, etc etc)
3) Now we're all just screwing around playing abandonware. We all wish they were willing to put effort into it (be that improving the sim, bringing in new players, or both), but they've rebuffed/ignored every suggestion/inquiry so far.

I think the difference is that you're still willing to treat the game as if it might be revamped one day, but a lot of others here don't see a reason to. "If multis are allowed, we might as well save some money, etc etc."

I don't really have an opinion on the multi thing either way, but I also just got back into it. I do wish that you could more easily find relevant information on player XP and the like (I did eventually find everything I needed, but it took quite a while). But again, this is effectively abandonware.

I, too, want this game to grow and for us all to find a way to keep the players that come back to the game while providing information to them about how to build dots in the new accelerated building process, information about the training process, how ALG's and skill caps work, a UI that shows how much ALG's will accrue for the duration of the build, and etc. I will say that the agent groups that are here are the friendliest it has ever been granted I did a 10 year hiatus, but I reached out to agents to ask questions that they very well could have scoffed at instead they answered them with grace and kindness
