Now that's a pretty clear answer from Cdog.

There's a lot of really weird misconceptions that everything is exponential and like 90 in a skill is absolute garbage but 95 is godlike. It's really strange.

Probability math is a weird beast. Especially when its dice rolls against dice rolls albeit big dice lol

my favorite is in a room of 30 people the probability of someone sharing a birthday is over 70%

Well...

Since you are being forthcoming...

That perception exists because stats get compared to other stats.

For example:

Your OLineman has Run Block Tech of 85 and the DT he's trying to block has Break Run Block of 90. Your OLineman seems to lose a lot of interactions because 85 < 90.

But when

Your OLineman has Run Block Tech of 95 and the DT he's trying to block has Break Run Block of 90, THEN your OLineman seems to win a lot of interactions because 95 > 90.

Is the comparison of the above two scenarios generally correct? Or is there something we are missing?

Because if it is, then that's why the user base "thinks" that 95 is exponentially better than 85.

Wow, the game would be horrible if it just said 95 > 90 so you win.

Glad it's multi-variable.

Want to talk about Intimidation?

how...how have people been playing this long and not realized this game is primarily roll checks and modifiers??

especially cumulative probabilities which I'm assuming happens in a blocking interaction for example

I'm having trouble thinking of elements of the game that are not affected by a roll of some kind. Tactics options for play calling, the pip system in the playbooks. The only thing that may be a pure 50/50 is the kickoff and i have not checked nor cared whether there's a homefield advantage or anything funky there lol
