Oh my bad, I think that's on me. Didn't have a contract offer and only had 2 games left before I hit Legend. So figured I should just retire him.

Oh yeah. Not on you at all. Just posting what the game did. Your guy was auto cut.

You're actually able to retire your player even if he is on a team as long as his contract is expiring.

Even though I was/am for the change, I want to affirm that I also think kickers should get full, free respecs this season. Some kickers (not all, given how it's essentially grandfathered, but any who change teams) will be expected to both kick FG's and kick off, whereas they didn't have to before. One season of warning, that some didn't really believe, wouldn't allow them to fully adjust-- so yes, let them have a full, free respec.

Leagues where everyone will face this rule (I guess just Rookie this season) should kick off from the 35 IMO as well.

Gotta love how this went into effect and they couldn't even update the Changelog.

Guys, you really really need to work on communicating with your customers.

Yeah, I'll agree with you on this point, too.

Since it was never in the Changelog, just in unofficial threads, many people who only read the Changelog (which is the only thread people should be expected to read-- I'm sure some don't read it either, but it would be their own fault if they didn't read the Changelog and it were in there) are probably going "???"

The Powers That Be also need to answer the question: Are kickers that stay on their teams grandfathered in for good, or will they be unable to be re-signed next season? Assuming they allow the respec I think they should allow, that's a very key question for those who'd be doing the respecing. And in fact even if they don't allow the respec but teams can't re-sign both their kickers next season, the FG kickers will have to invest in KO Power this season, if all teams will be down to one kicker next season.

The second question, either answer is okay with me: They can fully grandfather it, or they can make it so everyone can only use one kicker next season, period. However, they need to let people know the answer so people can prepare.

Once this coming seasons contracts are up, and it's time to sign a new contract...you'll only be able to sign one kicker. So teams that were fortunate enough to have already resigned 2 kickers prior to the end of the season, get to keep 2 kickers for one more season (barring any forced kicker removal).
At least as it stands right now...they could just remove all kickers and tell every team to resign their one kicker...but since they don't communicate, it's impossible to say.

Would be nice if they'd go ahead and post the changes, you know since this is the time people are getting their rosters set for the next season.

I'd love for their focus to be on actually important changes other than the number of kickers on a roster, but even that would let me know about cap space if they'd go ahead and say so.

Any communication would be nice at this point.

- Fixed a problem with facing angle calculations when deciding the chance of falling down after catching a pass (players should be much less likely to fall down when facing ball).
- Greatly reduced the chance of falling down when catching a screen pass, especially when facing the ball.
- Improved QB rollout logic so they can stop rolling out and go the other way if there are defenders in the way.
- Improved QB rollout avoidance math so they can have more freedom to move around and avoid defenders/blockers as they roll out
- Increased the base movement speed for QB when he rolls out of the pocket. The speed was previously the same as backpedaling speed, which made quicker QB's less mobile than they should be.
- Fixed a problem where an end of half timeout called before a field goal wouldn't run the clock down to 1 second before kicking. The issue was usually caused by certain too-low safe FG range settings.
- Added a fix that should apply to a long-standing rare knocked loose bug, where it should be a forced fumble instead

So does the fact that I still have two kickers from signing contracts early mean I'm officially fine for this season?

I'm too drunk to decifer all this but being a rQB enthusiast I emphatically approve.

And what? The knocked loose bug? How dare you Bort! That was sacred tradition that we held dear to our hearts! The game will never be the same without it!
