Back when I tried an all Zone D. Run Reaction wasn't reliable until everyone got nearly 70 Zone Awareness.

I had to go back and look at how I gave up 10 to Mannheim. Oh...this..

You sure are reaching with examples of build deficiency.

I bailed on zone defense this season so I couldn't care less about it.

But seriously though, zone won't be a thing until something makes players a lot faster in them.

That play is still hilarious. I'm not reaching, I'd rather be able to tackle and break run blocks, because it gets ridiculous in Pro and Vet trying to defend those types of teams. But by all means, keep calling for a nerf to pure passing teams, and claiming running gets butchered every offseason

What does pro have to do with rookie and why passing is the meta?

you're right we were talking about rookie... I kinda got lost in the moment.

I still stand by my statement that passing was meta this season in rookie because the majority of teams focused on run defense and Ashland won the lottery by focusing on pass D and getting mostly passing opponents who focused on Run D.

We could have faced every single rushing team in the book and been completely fine. Ashland dominates BEEF in scrimmages. I would have actually preferred it.

next you're going to tell me BEEF ignores run defense

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer facing only run teams too in rookie, it's easier to call plays against and they usually don't have enough break tackle ability to break through those plays yet.

It's the only reason I felt we had a shot at winning the league despite me struggling with Balanced O.

BEEF definitely doesn't ignore run defense. They are built around being a balanced defense.

Ashland was purely built for fun to play against pass teams. I don't expect them to compete in the top 10 for very long.

Speaking of Ashland, I want to try the double lurk D I made today against them. I'll get a preview of what it looks like before the LBs invest in zone awareness. (Although a few have already)

I watched a few games today --- some brand new rookie vs brand new rookie --- some soph vs soph -- and some vet vs vet.

I didn't see that the new outside run logic honestly made a HUGE difference. At times the D logic did look improved on some of the qb rollout crap -- but otherwise - to say the run game has been nerfed is either dishonest or an over reaction... but ya - that's what we do around here.

The simple need to split point distribution for both run and pass creates a deficit compared to teams committing all points to 1 focused area. This was a huge deviation from a real football simulation. In the NFL one dimensional teams rarely if ever win championships, its just too easy for good DCs to gameplan against, even the great rushing/passing teams had some balance to their attacks... So my only conclusion is you guys feel threatened that balanced offenses may close ground on your focused offenses in terms of effectiveness. If this is the case continue being angry that balance finally got paid its due attention, and given more relevance.

Nice speech.

Now let you give you a reality check. Here is GLB in a nutshell - GLB will give you rules and control and options, as long as you don't do too well - if you do we will change the rules to nerf your ass. We will do this until everyone wallows in mediocrity and loses interest. This is how we roll.

So you can all press for what you think you want. In the end it will mean squat because the end game is for everyone to suck equally. You whiners don't really want to win - you just don't want anyone else to either. Don't worry - CD has your back.
