maybe in rookie. It's not the best pass rush play in higher tiers IMO.

How is having a blocking HB any different than having a pure receiving HB? They are both built to do one thing that helps the offense succeed.

I'm not upset in the slightest. As a matter of fact - I'm kind of enjoying it because whenever Corndog announces whatever he's working on this is going to get ugly and I will enjoy watching it unfold.


Many times on the Stunners - we've had games where we spammed 2WR sweeps. There are 3 of them which makes it easier. Do I consider that spam? Yes - I generally did. Did I feel a little slimy after? Yes - I generally did. When we got the new plays - it was my opinion that they needed to add something to slow that down because it is a tough play to stop against run blockers - and CD added strong shift which I think is pretty strong against the sweeps.

Beyond that - though the stunners actively abused both the GL HB Sweep -- and the GL QB Rollout -- I still believed they were just terrible for the game and I was all for them being removed. With those plays it was like on the 1st series...if I saw the other team was running GL Defenses against GL offenses...it was game over -- didn't even need to watch even if they were a tier or two ahead of me. Bad for the game.

Given my understanding (could be wrong) that conditioning levels for some reason don't affect speed or fumble chance on QBs (I do believe they effect HB's) -- yes - it is my opinion that 50 QB runs a game is spam...and generally exploits rookie ball.

How do you define "spam"? How do you define "exploit"

It isn't ONLY that I'm against QB rushing --- something needs to be done about pass spammers as well. (the current sim actually encourages / forces spamming the same passes generally if you want to have a chance).

I'm scouting Ashland right now. (let me repeat...I do / would do / will do this exact same thing - I'm not picking on Ashland)

Their last 10 games:

2TE sets: 54 BI TE Crosses / 16 SB Big Short Hooks

2WR sets: 29 inside runs / 142 I FL Hitch / 97 I Double Back out and up / 17 I TE cross...7 other passes run 2-9 times each

3WR sets: 2 inside runs / 179 SB TE Post / 130 SG WR Hook / 78 SB TE Drive / 60 SG TE Drive / 5 SB overload / 1 screen


That's it. 10 games with a record of 9-1 running the same plays every game for the most part. But the game is currently made so they have to -- there is no other choice.


Picture this imaginary but realistic scenario:

New player - buys a team - pays $150 to buy a bunch of flex - makes a butt load of players each one at a time - and then starts losing. He works through his playbook and hand chooses plays. He pores over his tactics pages tuning and fine tuning. He pays for a couple of scrimms.

But his team is struggling. He sends me a PM: Hey Man, can you help me out? I can't seem to score any points and I can't figure it out...this is super frustrating!!

My answer to him? (same as the answer you guys would all give him I'm sure): Good news! I see the problem!! You have to run Big I TE Crosses / I FL Hitch / I Double Back out and Up / SB TE Post and the TE Drives....then you'll move the ball some if your builds are right.


His response: Awesome! Thanks...this is super fun!

of course not...his response is going to be "seriously? those are the only plays I can run? well this is stupid...can I get my money back on that flex purchase? This isn't a game...this is just a waste of time.."

hmm, i got a running offense and a passing offense. Both with lots of spam. But we will roll with whatever punches come our way. There will always be spam. It is just the nature of using what is good.

Looking forward to seeing how this shakes out. I discussed the nerf spamming a bit previously. Not sure if that is what will be done but I am a fan if so. This change could definitely lead to other much needed changes depending on what and how they go about it. Hopefully this is the first step of many needed when it comes to the actually simulation/gameplay/game planning.

Defenses need some sort of Play Recognition AI for spammed plays. Furthermore real teams SPAM plays on most levels even professional teams do this. If you have a team that can execute a play with 75% effectiveness the play will be called over and over again. Its called Football. Also is is not just the play it is the play and the personnel. Some of the plays your teams can spam mines cannot. via versa.

I think the defensive coaching artificial intelligence (if that exist) should be geared to spot and shut down repeat plays. my 2c.
