WCW vs. QCBC/MMA/DD/Run GLB

5 WR slam 11 times for 1.6 ypc

GL Off Tackle 17 for 8.9 ypc

As in it can be completely shut down if the opposing DC is expecting it.

And our power back is a beast. I mean, |Rage| is a strong runner but Xavier is on another level.

The point you are missing spectacularly is that against the top DC's in the game those plays are averaging 3 and 4 ypc despite you telling me how easy they are to shut down and with no outside runs to change the defenses. You have solidified the argument against the GL plays you wish you still had.

That doesn't make any sense. GL is its own formation. You aren't going to expect anything else from it besides both off tackles and blast currently.

Ya they are right there at the level of 30 other superstar and some non superstar power backs.

I'm speaking from a rushing team's perspective.

I didn't know GL rushing counted towards ST's statistics.

For a rushing team 5WR means QB Slam strong and Slam Weak...the rollouts are a joke. How is that different from the new GL aside from the FB sweeps that require the elusive rushing FB?

I didn't know you were unable to see the connection between strong blocking, awesome ball carrying and great ST production.

5WR isn't just a joke for running the ball. It's a miserable passing formation too.

Is there anyone that doesn't know you can still old-school DAG 5WR? Like, all 3 LBs blitz, not the CB and 2 LBs. There's not any route on 5WR that can do anything useful before the blitz forces a crappy hurried throw or you have to eat a sack.

Not to mention unnecessarily gassing your own WR depth by playing 5 of them at once.

I showed you the difference.

How does one make the connection of ST production and more beastly back to use in GL than all the other superstars in GLB2? Are you just telling me that you are purposefully holding them back in your running game?

you realize the same dcs are giving up like 5+ ypc to most dives so again why run a 3-4 yard play when i have a 6-7 yard play

Unfortunately the best routes on 5 WR are also the worst routes in GLB2. The short ones. I would personally have just liked to wipe GL and 5 WR from the game all together and bring in 2 viable formations for both running and passing. These 2 formations have been a thorn in the blocking code for nearly a decade of GLB's existence. And for obvious reasons.

But since it is less likely we ever see either formation gone from the game, we can at least hope for more formations/plays. At this point that seems like the best spent coding time as it continually keeps the game fresh and expands it at the same time.
