I feel like some of you are new to GLB in general reading these suggestions....we can't even get a broken sim fixed (i.e. Knocked Loose and bad end of half/game mechanics) yet you want some time of elaborate piece of code that adjust your ELO score via roster turnover, game changes, etc


The best we will ever get is fresh ELO at the start of each season and that's a long shot. My guess is that we will be told that the K Value is adjusted each off season and we will never be able to actually tell if it was.

Honestly I thought there was going to be a penalty for having less than 36 human players on a team when GLB2 was first established.

Well I think it is easy to see that the value was adjusted just due to some of the movement in the ladder this season. Not anything like anyone thought would happen but there is still a difference for sure.

That would be a fun addition. That greasemonkey script in GLB1 was a ton of fun for awhile.

I'm not the enemy; just the messenger (of bad news). We're on the same side.

People will be dicks. It can't be helped.

The problem is that in trying to prevent the 2% dick moves, the current system hurts the 98% legit moves.

I'd rather error on the side of the 98%. Let reputation mean something. Let people join any team without restriction or penalty.

Then let the community police itself for the dick moves.

Just imagine what's worse: getting the full effect of Rob/parab00n/TxSteve/TDiddy/Romo/bhall/o The Boss/Blastoh because you pissed off them/one of their friends?

Or Chemistry as it currently exists?

Who is going to want to join a dick owner when they are the target of the top Coordinators who want blowouts?

Bort/ Cdog - please let us police ourselves when it comes to dick moves and remove the Chemistry penalties.

It's better than Chemistry as implemented.

I'm just not a fan of using chemistry to determine ladder ranking. If we are worried about cutting players midseason, then just remove the option. Make it so after around day 5 you can no longer cut players.

I would much rather see chemistry removed, the ability to cut players midseason removed and ELO reset each offseason to close the gaps between teams.

I mean that sounds great that you want to police moves like that, but it just doesn't logically fit. Guy goes inactive and stops spending SP's. I am stuck with him? Don't like the guy I created rookie season but he is on a team now, I can't retire him because I am binded by contract?

Chemistry obviously is hated by most but it has its place. What we all can agree on though is that the way it currently works sucks for everyone involved.

Seems to me the simplest solution:

sign in offseason -- start with 100 chem

sign days 1-10 -- start at 50 and get 10 chem per game played

sign days 11-20 -- start at 0 and get 10 chem per game played

sign days 21-30 -- start at 0 and get 5 chem per game played



removes much of the sting. Encourages sticking with your roster. Discourages roster overhaul late in the season. Theoretically simple to add
