That's because the DT doesn't jump when he swats, so vertical was a waste.

Probably you would be better off going Power Pass Rush and swat, but include a tall and fat player who can use that leverage.

Nonsense. CBs don't jump when they deflect, but vertical on CBs is very important.

Doesn't vertical raise the PD radius/max height of pass deflection?

So a DT running free could actually use vertical, no?

I'm guessing that most of the passes aren't going to require a jump if you are already 6'8. In my mind, this skill is about getting your hands up in the lane and swatting the ball down during your pursuit.
