TT - I don't know what the rankings were at the time but I'd assume it was Erkner in the 2nd to last ladder game last season - last game before your streak of playing SF. But yeah you've been paired up a lot.

This is directly caused by the fact that the new S3 Sophomore teams were given the same starting rating as the S3 Rookie teams. So since you're both 3-0 you'll have similar ratings still, in spite of the sophomore team not being a "weaker" sophomore team.

Last season at least there was some buffer between the new rookie teams and the new sophomore teams - looks like this season they didn't even do that. New teams, regardless of age group, were all given the same default starting rating, which was lower than any team's existing rating.

Ya. I suspect this is going to play havoc with the rookie team ladder for quite a while. Was just looking at the ladders, and the lowest ranking sophomore teams would show up in the middle of the rookie ranks. Not even sure games-played tiered K values would sort this out any time soon.

I'm really not looking forward to getting crushed every other game because new sophomore teams were started too low.

Well. We scored a TD and held them to less than 40 points which is way better than I expected since the frakkin' team they put us up against wasn't just sophomore, but undefeated sophomore.

Now back to stealing lunch money from other rookie teams and giving them swirlies during recess.
