They aren't gonna implement a read option in this game. That would be 100 times more difficult than all the things they can't balance already.

I'll probably mess around with these today. Was looking for something fun to do to ease back into the flow, and I enjoy making plays.

Wishbone or a shotgun 2 back system could be interesting though.

Yes yes and yes to those plays.

Those outside safety blitz's either aren't going to change anything or make 5 wr unusable I'd guess. Depending on where you place them around the los.

Would like more blitz + spy action if we could in all formations.

Yeah, that's what I'm cautious about.

In the early days on the test server, 5WR was just unusable because there were a couple blitzes that ended up in a sack about 80% of the time.

I was generating a good amount of sacks using the olb blitz's against 5 wr. The only thing was that I lacked the conditioning to keep it up and the formations obviously weren't equipped to cover 5 wr's so eventually you just get hammered by it. With those safeties you could really mix in coverage and 3rd and long would be an absolute no no.

The main benefits of the pistol, from all sources I find, are kind of intangible. "The QB is close enough to read blitzes but far enough to read coverage" etc, since he is only 3 deep instead of 5-7 from shotgun...which doesn't really translate to code that well.

You already get the north/south thing with the singleback formations. It just kind of seems like a weird hybrid with intangibles that can't really be coded to me.

I think the pistol is a faster hitting offense personally, but okay... I can understand the coding problems. To bad about the read option... that would be cool.

Wait... corndog didn't say no to read option... could it be done?

Or... what about a jet sweep?

I would just love some more formations highlighting the fb really. You would probably better satisfy the arguments of scat hb vs power hb if there was more for the fb to do. Wishbone and flex bone would be a lot of fun. Even without the need for option offense plays.

The best part is that it looks like a child drew them. I miss my tablet when I'm at work and using MSPaint.

If the O-line are able to read the blitz, there should be an overload on one, single blockers on the others. Sometimes the blitzers will win, sometimes they won't win in time for the single man coveage WRs to get open.

There is a lot of risk in not having any help over the top or over the middle. If your QB is set to throw a long developping route 100% of the time, then you should either be forced to throw early or take the sack. If you blitz everyone and leave no help, you should expect to be beaten some of the time. The fact that the 5WR formation is "the only formation people are throwing out of" right now is because it is a gimmick and there are no good 5CB plays to stop it. You have all the time in the world to throw because there's no valid blitz options that don't also cover the WR. If you blitz up the middle, it is an easy rollout for 10-15 yards. If you blitz from one side only, the QB escapes to the other side for a long scramble. You have to have a formation that either blitzes a safety and has a spy to cover the escape route or you need to blitz from both sides.

Yes. In hindsight, I should have. I'll make the one mentioned in ^^^ post using the DPC.

I really like Pro Set, though the FB basically just becomes a second HB.

The quick hitting nature of FB dives from the I formations are just brutal. I really want to make an offense with a powerhouse FB built to run dives and a pure scat HB.
