I think that was my sole contribution to the scouting report when trying to beat them in the playoffs.

Other zones work too.

OP is finally updated. First I apologise for the inactivity but real life can get hectic sometimes!

So round 1 is almost completed! There are 3 games to be played and I've pm'd those responsible to get them sorted asap (note that games not played by a time I see fit will be deemed a forfeit by the away team). Also another administrative note: could all teams check the round 2 draw and make sure your away challenges have been sent (should just be 2) and that you've received challenges for your 2 home games. If possible poke your fellow owners to get them to send the challenges!

We've had some pretty amazing games so far I hope to get through all of them soon and post at least a short summary. At the mid point though it looks like SF, DD and Alpine are clear favourites. Though Group B is a little unclear with Maine having not played 2 of their games yet. I'll update the top 20 as soon as I have the latest game data from the last 7 days to update the elo rankings but it's good to see Iowa in the official top 10! A few of the teams that were well in the top 10 at the start of the season have dropped quite a way as well with OG GLB being the most obvious example. Iowa, OG and the wolfpack will be looking to prove that they deserve to be here by registering their first wins of the tournament in round 2.

DD and Alpine will hope to sweep their groups but will be keeping a close eye on their potential semi final opponents. The top two in both groups should be a lot clearer over the next few games, there could also be significance in posting large scores for teams like Rocky, SF, Seattle and Maine to win any tiebreakers they may find themselves in. Sunday Funday have definitly put themself in a good spot in that regard.

Round 2: Day 1 Preview

Doinitin Djibouti @ TT's Wolfpack of One

A big game for the wolfpack with a loss almost cermenting their exit. TT did push DD to the limits in their opening match however and they'll be looking to repeat that performance hoping the added edge of being at home pushes them to their first W of the competition. If TT prepares a solid game plan then I actually see them taking this one. TT have probably underperformed so far this tournament but I expect them to come out firing in the second half hoping to make a run for a semi final spot.

Maine Snails @ Alpine

Note this game has not yet been scheduled; will hopefully be quick scrimmed tomorrow but requires Maine posting their first challenge so I'm not holding my breath. Assuming it does get played then we shall be fortunate enough to see a repeat of an amazing first round match with Alpine managed to win by 3 points. Although Alpine have been on a tear recently I think Maine could bag this one to shake up group B a bit and show that they really are the number 2 team in GLB.

A quick note for current (and future teams) that this tournament can only function if teams actually send challenges (and plenty of notice is given!). How prompt these challenges are sent (or otherwise) will be taken into account when choosing teams for future seasons.

OP updated.

Note that with the early results in round 2 Group B is looking pretty sorted at the moment but Group A has Seattle making a charge with a very nice win over DD. Good to see Iowa posting some good results after some early blow outs.

Updated the current top 20 as well (rankings don't include any of todays ladder games).

I think I put in a zone package against SF last game... I didn't expect to win so I had all blitzes and zones to see how the new heuristic coverage might work.

Looks like the 4 teams leading the way to making the semis are DD, SF, Maine, and Alpine - same 4 teams at the top of the ladder right now.
