Here's my crack at it -- [average of --> effective level+record+standings] **just what the numbers gave me, don't like them, do one yourself**

To be honest, it's quite the clusterfuck when i look at it.

1-Canton (not to be a dick, but this is probably the one consensus pick we'll have)
2-Warriors-I think you have to give them credit. They've played a tough schedule and are undefeated. They might not be the 2nd best team in the league, but they have a better claim to it than anyone else by far.
3-Philly-Might be high for them, but only loss is to Canton and they beat Somalia fairly handily in a ranked scrim game.
4-TAP-yah, they're currently ranked 7th in Elephant, but they've repped APL well in scrims, and honestly are probably the 2nd best team in the league despite 2 losses
5-BSSI-Win over Hali proves they have the talent. 2 league losses is pretty surprising, but they'll represent well
6-Somalia-Some will have them higher, but I think this is about right
7-ICB-Played TKW tough, and beat TAP and BSSI. Surprising losses on there, but I still think they're up here.
8-CWE-Am I punishing them too much for the loss to Zambezi?
9-Lincoln-they're undefeated, but really untested. Elephant is so much deeper and so much more confusing, so I put Lincoln here.
10-ABD-Not always winning pretty, but winning nonetheless. Argument could be made for them even higher, but I honestly think they'll fall significantly when they hit the heart of their schedule
11-SoA-They really aren't that great this season, but they're still not bad.
12-RMT-Get this spot because of win over A7, but it's close
13-A7-Could very well be undefeated and may deserve a significantly higher ranking, but getting crushed by Rhine Red Raiders makes me skeptical. Hopefully they can rep well for APL
14-Zambezi-Loss to Ghana still baffling. Win over CWE means they are better than they've shown so far. Expect good things from them in the challenges.
15-Nairobi-I'm pretty confident in this ranking for them.
16-GG-So much better than their record it's not even funny. Should pull in a win against a lesser opponent ranked this low.
17-Uganda-If Landry will man up and stay true to his word and stay in the challenge then they should get a win here for us and help rep APL
18-RM49-Brutal schedule so far. Not a bad team.
19-Nile River-Proving themselves competitive
20-Ghana Buffalos-Have had some close games against excellent teams. If they would have beat Sons and ABD in addition to their win over Zambezi, we'd be talking about them.
21-Norfolk Nighthawks-Staying in games for the most part
22-London Mighty Milkmen-Not as bad as their record shows. Staying competitive
23-Translyvania Grim Reapers-Need to keep their heads up and will snag a couple wins here in the 2nd half of the season. They're respectable in games, but have had a tough schedule to start their Pro experience
24-Boston Stranglers-Have a pretty good team note at least.

One other thing to discuss is how to handle the extra teams we have. SAPL and OPL seem to be ending up with around 20. We have 23 or 24 (pending Uganda not bitching out).

I propose we alternate the final through slots. So if we need 6 teams to sit out total between the two challenges, Boston-London-Ghana sit out OPL and TGR-Norfolk-Nile River sit out SAPL. That's based off my bottom rankings obviously. It may be different when we finalize the list. But that gives APL the best chance to win imo, while ensuring everyone gets to play in at least one challenge.

ok you talked me into it with your kind words--I will leave it up to yall to decide if we are in or out. If we are in we will give our best shot.

I'm going to send out the list of teams to the owners of the teams in the challenge, as well as use the one's that I see in this thread to decide the seeding. The OPL already has their teams ranked, so we need to get on the ball with this.

Done. I need to have those back by noon cst on Wednesday.

I'm a sweet talker I know. But seriously man, I know it's been a rough start, and it surprises me more than you probably realize. As much as we fuck with you, I respect a team that sticks around as long as you have and consistently strives to be better. This game can be a real bitch, but your team is sincerely better than your record. I think you're hurt by a young QB/WR core in a season where you really need strength there. I haven't watched your offense enough to know a lot about it, but you should be able to find some way to generate something, either with screens, or pitch plays or crossing routes, hell abuse those TE outs if you need to. Something has to work.

This is a representation of APL why do we have teams getting in a League Challenge who are 0-6 in APL? Is that the type of representation we/you want for the league? OPL for one isn't going to send a bunch of 0 win teams or even a bunch of 1 win teams into this. I applaud someone for paying attention but that's pretty much about it... 4/6 teams with no wins are vying to represent the league.

With all the things that APL has done or been a part of people wonder why APL is continually viewed poorly? When we lose Challenge's like this people here will have the nerve to wonder why APL gets disrespected when talks about leagues go up throughout the forums....

Yes i'm sure this will hurt someones feelings. No it wasn't my intention but this makes about as much sense as my High School football team heading out to play the Steelers for bragging rights in Pennsylvania. The outcome under those circumstances is known. It's not fun to get killed. And this shouldn't be about everyone getting their chance to play in the game like it's T-Ball or pre-school soccer....

Having pride in APL or your team is great. Letting the teams who can do something about it compete for the chance to make the league look good should be what this is about.

That said, that's the alternative to the method I suggested. We have 4 zero win teams. If all 4 get left out, we're right at 20 teams, which is what OPL and SAPL are looking at.

You said OPL's list is done. Does Canton get Cypriot or Asau?

Nile has a couple wins but I am willing to not play any challenges unless it it is believed that we are truly among the top 20. Admittedly I do not think we really are.

I expressed a desire to NOT participate early on and it was stated that the "lower tier" teams would be matched with the others...

I for one don't care either way. You superstar teams can fight it out for lolbragging rights. I'm pretty sure my life will go on regardless. It was noted that it would be good to have "the more the better" to represent, but if you only want to have 6-8 teams, that's fine as well.

Don't listen to some of these guys. They take this kind of stuff more seriously than others. Whoever finishes in the top 20 is in.
