sorry, which hard rock band has sold more records over the last decade?

So, they're still not better than the Beatles, right?

Overall no, at Hard Rock, probably. I mean Helter Skelter is pretty good, but How You Remind Me is epic.

Nickelback can only approach the level of the Beatles if at least two of them die.

Soon.

Nickelback have sold something like 31,000,000 albums. The Beatles sold around 500,000,000. There's a lot more than a couple of deaths separating these bands. Of course the Beatles didn't have to deal with people stealing their music online, so you could make the argument either way.

Nickelback hasn't had to deal with Yoko.

Oh, I just meant that the Beatles sold more albums in the 2000-2010 time frame than Nickelback (and everyone else except for Eminem), not overall. You did say "last decade".

Oh, well if that's true then it's pretty cut and dry that the Beatles are a better overall band. But Nickelback are still the best hard rock band ever.

The Beatles deal is just weird, though. I mean, seriously, for their time, they were epic. However, compared to today's music, 98% of their stuff is extremely Blah, but yet kids just think it's cool to like them. Now, that's not a rip on the Beatles. Music technology and the art itself has come so far since their time that it'd be damn near impossible for one not to say that. Still, can you imagine if someone released I Want to Hold Your Hand today, even using modern equipment and instruments? They'd be laughed at by everyone, including those same ppl that are still buying it today. The Beatles were incredibly talented for their time, but they aren't selling much stuff today based on that talent. They're selling most of it because it's "cool" to like them......Not really any different than the HS girls that wear AC/DC, Pink Floyd & Led Zepplin Ts, yet couldn't name one of their songs.

If you talk to any fire fighther, policemen, sales person (or any respectful human being), they all listen to stuff like Nickelback, because it follows the correct formula...kind of like human beings must do in order to be happy and succesful. (hence, kurt cobang shot himself.)

Who's dick do you gets sucked more?

Woo Hoo, it's back. Gart made these exact same two arguments about 18 months ago and I still haven't stopped laughing, now I'm on the floor

Where does this come from? Is there some sort of line of self help books that says, "Do what successful or respectful human beings do, there's a formula." and, "police officers, fire fighters and sales people (WTF?) are the respectful people"? Did you get this from some self aspiration sales force seminar? Seriously, I am fucking astonished by this line of reasoning. Read a couple of hundred police reports and after coming to the conclusion that without spell check the number of [sic]s would surpass 50% of the word count, your second conclusion is that the majority of them are far from "respectful". I would no more listen to a fire fighter's restaurant suggestion than I would their musical one.

And I love the "blowjob" count as a measure of worth. Why not combine the two arguments and simply state, Nickleback is the greatest because they get the most blowjobs from policemen and fire fighters!
