Look, I just said his passing shouldn't have been called average. By the way...you're a aggsy what do you know of a complicated, high powered offense...

I'm glad we've got resident 12 year olds on here to talk smack.

You are the type that give people like Buddy a bad name.

Would it have taken 45 to be a "good" offense?

That was meant to be a joke...is it that time of the month?

I have nothing to gain in this argument, but Vince Young was a better college QB than Gino Toretta. Toretta isn't even the best QB to ever play at Miami, let alone trying to say he was better than Vince Young.

Vince Young single handledly won that national title game against USC. When Toretta played against Bama it wasn't a pretty sight

Oh my God. Get him off of this forum. There's no room for facts and reason here.

- You still neglect his performance against Houston in the NC game in 91.

- No man single-handedly wins in football.

- your opinion in this arguement so you can say what you will.

- Of course Gino wasnt the best. Miami has a good list of QB's that I could make a case for. Jim Kelly and Vinny Testeverde being 2 of them.

See you crazy kids later. I'm off to play some hockey. Don't kill each other so early in the season.

Come on your not going to compare Houston to Southern Cal or Bama are you? Houston? Everybody knows they didn't play defense. Vince Young had a tremendous game against USC who was the defending national champs and Toretta just disappeared against Bama. Toretta was a good college QB. Vince Young was a great college QB.

I still say the only reason why VY won that Rose Bowl is because Pete Caroll is an IDIOT. Cases in point :

How do you never put a spy on a QB who's only hurting you with his legs ?
Why are you dropping 2 or 3 safeties into zone coverage 15 yards deep when VY never even looked deep and your CBs have proven they can smother the WRs anyway ? It basically gave him 10 yard rushes everytime he wanted to.
Why in the world is Reggie Bush not on the field on that 4th down play even as a decoy ?

VY had an amazing game.
I just don't like when people talk about that game as the greatest CFB game ever, because for me, that game was borderline unwatchable because of stupid coaching decisions the entire game.

Pete Caroll is not a good gameday coach. He proved it in the NFL multiple times, and even his victories with USC will never, ever make me believe that he's gotten smarter. He just happens to be a good recruiter and won games at a time when the Pac-10 didn't play defense at all and was very mediocre.

Spy VY? they started out with a spy, but just like every other team that spied him, it was too much for the secondary to handle being shorthanded. You couldnt spy that team and PC was actually smart to go away from it. The only bad thing he did in that game was try to go for it on 4th down instead of punting. And that wasn't that bad a call.

Lets just say this. Vince Young isn't the greatest college QB ever.

He is just simply the greatest college football player ever.

I think it's stupid to not hold Vince In the argument for greatest CFB of all time...As was once said about Earl Campbell, "He may not be in a class of his own, but it don't take long to call the roll." He hasn't been good in the pro's for whatever reason, but he also led the pitiful Titans to almost make the playoffs his rookie year gaining a ROY in tow and last year took them to the playoffs...The guy wins and has the will to win...Even if he is never great will it really matter because of what he did in his 3 seasons at Texas and in those two games in Pasadena? He was the marquee star in the greatest bowl game ever.
