I am thinking the players own the AEQ but teams own EQ

One problem with having teams own EQ is that older teams would have a huge advantage, even more than they do now. For an old team money would start to become worthless after not too long. There are also some kinks to be worked out, like how exactly the transition would work. And when a team gets a younger player would they need to buy all new gear or would it be backwards compatible?

Probably worth looking into though.

well maybe when equipped and the player leaves the team it gets recycled and say it has + 6 speed the player leaves, the piece loses +2 speed or something and you have to pay to upgrade it again or something.

Yeah, I do believe that if it is worked on the idea could definitely be something interesting and possibly add another element to the game.

Also, there could be something like a "locker" where teams could hold limited number of AEQ pieces.

So for example an Elusive HB rolls a good Power Back piece, then the team can buy the piece from the player, the player loses 4 BT in the exchange, but then the team can have that piece in the "locker" where they have a small number of slots (say 4) where they store AEQ for other players on the team. And if a Power Back wanted to take the piece from the "locker," the player could buy the piece from the team, and also pay a 4 BT exchange rate.

Of course the team would have control of who buys the pieces on the team.

The whole realm of EQ can be developed into something more interesting in this game.

I don't know, when you start talking about transferable AEQ I think it opens too much opportunity to have players who come on with 60 saved up shopping tokens to save the other player's the hassle. Players way past their prime could easily be used for this purpose. Rules could be set up designed to prevent this type of thing but it would be impossible to enforce well enough.

Plus you could sign a retiring lvl 70 to a minors uncapped team and have him roll a load of EQ at once with a higher chance of something good.

this team EQ idea would make a lot of teams much better. Half the battle is getting EQ in the right places for the schemes.

My suggestion would be for the team to own regular EQ. When a player retires with say level 64 EQ it could be given back to the team for any incoming player (since the team's money payed for it already). However, if the player that gets the EQ next is only level 55 he would suffer a -2 on each piece until he reached the next upgrade level of 56 where he would only get a +1, then another +1 at 64. These last 2 upgrades would not need to be paid for by the player as they would basically be treated as unlockables when they hit the proper upgrade level.

On the other hand, I have another idea where the agent themselves would keep the EQ (or possibly even AEQ, but with limited AEQ slots) when their player retires and re-use it on a new player being built using the same unlocking method described above (so a level 13 player wouldn't have a +8 piece rather than their normal+2), possibly even going as far as it only being usable on a player of the same position.

possibly even have the recycled EQ only last for an additional 3 seasons (attributable to regular wear and tear over several seasons) if someone gets hung up too much over the original plan.

Some clear holes in my AEQ idea. But I really like the ideas behind the team owned EQ.

Someone cliffnotes this thread for me? Looks like there was some good stuff but I don't have time to read all 7 pages.

I don't ever see AEQ being team owned, you'd pretty much have five of everything if that was the case and that removes pretty much all the randomness of the AEQ system.

Normal EQ = Team owned
AEQ = Player owned
Team Owned EQ needs an upkeep cost.
Team owned EQ senses the player's level and adjusts to make sure they aren't getting too big a bonus (no +9 Speed gear on a L30)
