I'm talking about comparing consecutive seasons. In S10, Mayan got blown the fuck out by the best teams in CPL, lost to some other teams that didn't make the WL the following season, and barely beat three more teams. In S11, Mayan didn't have any close games in SLAP except for Valhalla and SOAP. The difference was night and day. It's not like Mayan's S10 losses were close and their S11 wins were close.

Dude, if you're going to lie about the things I say then don't even bother posting. Of course 14-2 in any Pro conference is better than 2-14 in CPL. I have to guess since it's not even clear where you're getting this angry, irrational statement from, but I suppose this has to do with my comment about Providence vis-a-vis Valhalla two seasons ago. Note that I didn't say that Providence was better than Valhalla two seasons ago, merely that I think we would have had a better chance to beat you then. I don't think we'd have any chance now, since in the last two seasons you've become a ridiculously dominant force.

GMathiasf & crazy454 insisted that levels explain why Providence struggled in the CPL two seasons ago, and not the fact that the CPL continued to have quality depth. I pointed out that if levels were the culprit, then Valhalla would have had similar struggles, but you didn't. That and the Mayan comparison certainly suggest that CPL had much better overall quality than SLAP.

adding in marblehead and halifax doesn't just get cpl two more wins. it then gives every CPL team a matchup 2 slots easier. with halifax and marblehead it's probably close to a sweep for CPL.

thats not how it works

then factor in that Manus did not play their game.

they did lose to marblehead, but they were still better than majority of the CPL teams in the tourney.

so most CPL matchups would only be 1 slot easier, which does not give them a sweep. nice try.

the fact that so many SLAP agents are still wearing fiesta sombreros means that CPL wins before any games are even simmed.

You are doing the exact thing you are complaining at w_alloy for doing, you are comparing apples to oranges. How is comparing consecutive seasons accurate? Especially when S10 was before all the best teams went to the WL and S11 was after, Mayan was a young team who won 11 games in the CPL(and made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs)...losing to 3 teams who went to the WL in S11...they went 15-1 in the SAPL...they improved, of course, being a young and incredibly well built team but isn't it pretty obvious that they would have won 14-15 games in the CPL that year as well? Your logic just doesn't make any sort of sense. w_alloy's point still stands if you are going to try and compare S10 in the CPL, Pre WL to S11 in the SAPL, post WL.

Predict how long until Ahrens takes off the sombrero now.

My guess, he waits about 2 weeks, when this thread has safely gone away and been mostly forgotten, then takes off the sombrero, then sends Gart a thank you PM.

Most objective observers saw that CPLs big 3 were better than SAPLs big 3 (as they proved in the PWT that season), but the rest of CPL just wasn't very good, and quite clearly not as deep as SAPL.

Just let us know whenever you decide to tell us which season(s) you're actually talking about. CPL in S3 =/= CPL in S11, and you're being vague because you don't even know what season you're talking about.
