Alex Smith in terms of a regular nfl QB is not necessarily a bust just yet. However, in terms of a 1st overall draft pick he is a bust. I know it's tough to say that considering what he has gone through but you would expect a 1st overall pick to do a little better than that.

I don't know what Tebow is going to do in the NFL and frankly I don't much care. It's not like Florida QBs have the greatest NFL track record, it would be nice if he would do good so everyone would stop saying Florida QBs are crappy NFL QBs though.

I'm not saying Tebow is going to have a great pro career or that is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I am just tired of people blowing him off just because of his playing style or Alex Smith's career. Also, when people don't recognize how good of a college player he is it kind of pisses me off. I can't stand it when people call him overrated or a "gimmick" QB, Tebow is one of the best players in Florida football history and by the end of next season could be one of the best players in NCAA football history. As long as you recognize the fact that the dude is a great player in college I'm cool with that.

With the exception of possibly Young and Leinart, Teabag has much better supporting casts. You know what's funny, Young and Leinart both had better numbers than Tebow in their title runs and were a much larger factor in the offense.

Enough said

You keep saying he had the same numbers as Alex Smith. So what? A lot of good NCAA QBs had the same numbers as Alex Smith. WTF is your point? Just because they are in the same offense and same coach that means they are going to be the same? Same outcome? Your logic isn't even comparable to my 11 year nephew. You keep saying the same things over and over. Get something new, we have thrown all kinds of facts and stats at you yet you still keep saying the same Mel Kiper BS.

The running game exploded after the Ole Miss game. Meyer didn't realize what he had with Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps in the backfield. Once they broke out he started passing a lot less, hence Tebow's passing yardage went down. He was still one of the most efficient QBs in the nation, his completion % was still good so your argument about yardage is stupid. Obviously when a team has 4 guys going over 7 yard per carry they aren't going to pass as much. They don't have to.

Unless you have something new to bring to the table that isn't based off your douchebag opinion (or Mel Kiper's) then STFU.

I thought they won because of Tebow. Now you say it was because the running game exploded that the running game exploded. So Florida had a great running game and a great D but we should use this win as a testament to the QB's greatness... Yeah that makes sense.

It must be real hard for Tebow to play on a team that is clearly athletically superior to basically every team they play. He has an innovative coach and you idiots want to call him one of the best ever. The point of Smith is that Tebow isn't doing anything in this offense that has not been before by others. His season numbers are excpetional but none of them are unheard of in this offensive era. His overall numbers are more of a by product of a long career.

You little man crushers just don't seem to get that no one is saying he is a bum. You have to argue every imagined slight as though he is the savior. He is a great college QB and works perfectly in the system offense that Meyer uses. It is a great match of coach and player. However you fucking idiots want to take this to the absurd and call him one of the greatest ever which really he is just doing what several QB's have achieved over the last few years. Great, yes. Best ever, yeah not really.

By the way what part was wrong. He had much more talent than Stafford, Cutler and Ryan. Young and Leinart were much larger factors to their teams offense.

You're an absolute douche bag. Can you not factor in Tebow's rushing yards and tds into your thick headed equation? After college he could have the 2nd most passing TDs in the SEC and the most rushing TDs. He will have done this in only 3 years of starting. Let's break down the 3 QBs on their championship runs. Leinart had a QB rating of 156.54 going 269/412 for 3322 passing yards with 33 TDs and 6 INTs and -44 rushing yards with 3 TDs. That equals 3278 total yards and 36 TDs. Young had a QB rating of 163.95 going 212/325 for 3036 passing yards with 26 TDs and 10 INTs and 1050 rushing yards with 12 TDs. That's 4086 total yards and 38 TDs. Tebow had a QB rating of 172.37 going 192/298 for 2746 yards with 30 TDs and 4 INTs and had 673 rushing yards with 12 TDs. That's 3419 total yards and 42 TDs. So Tebow had a better QB rating than both Leinart and Young. Tebow also had more TDs. Tebow accounted for more yards than Leinart, but not Young. Tebow had less turnovers than either one of them. He was also much more efficient than either of the them. Tebow was just as big of a factor, if not bigger, than Leinart or Young. Check your facts next time and own up that Tebow is one of the greatest college players ever!!

Within the NFL's current passer rating system, the best passer rating that a quarterback can obtain is 158.3, while the worst is zero. The highest passer rating for a complete season is 121.1 set by Peyton Manning in 2004.

The NCAA passer rating has an upper limit of 1,261.6 and a lower limit of -731.6 (Due to 100% Completion). The single-season record belongs to Colt Brennan of Hawaii, who amassed a passer rating of 186.0 over the 2006 season, while the freshman record belongs to Michael Vick of Virginia Tech, whose rating during the 1999 season was 180.4.

... and before today I always thought they were the same...

So the question becomes is Tebow, Steve Young or Michael Vick?

If Campbell fails this season as the Redskins starter, I can't wait to see what Brennan can do.
