UPCOMING GAMES OF THE WEEK

Alpha Conference
Sinsheim at Messina - Things are looking grim for the MC Airs playoff hopes, despite their current hold on the 8th seed. Last week's loss to the Park Bruins gives the MC Airs only a single game advantage on Jellystone, who now holds the head-to-head. In all likelihood, the Park Bruins will go 2-3 in their last five games to end at 8-8 on the season. Due to the head-to-head tiebreaker, the MC Airs will probably need to also go 2-3 in that stretch to keep in the playoff hunt, which means beating at least one of Belfast, London, Maranello, or Messina. The best chance for that is probably this week against the Blazers--a team that easily took care of the Park Bruins two weeks ago. Line: Messina by 14.

Zeta Conference
Mannheim at Helsinki - In the de facto battle for second place, the Crabs will play host to the Jaguars. Helsinki has rolled through the six games since their sole loss to the Lightning, while Mannheim looked unbeatable until their surprising Week 10 stumble in London. This game will likely decide who gets the second seed in the playoffs and is a possible preview of Round 2 of the playoffs. That said, maybe both teams should try to lose this game and get the #3 seed. After all, in the history of WEA6, only one second seeded Zeta team has ever made it out of the first round of the playoffs. I'm having a hard time picking the Jags after that London game, so I'm going with...Line: Helsinki by 4.

Don't overlook Siena vs Denmark. Siena NEEDS this one also and we're seeing 2 of the conferences top wideouts. But Helsinki and Manheim will be awesome.

To save time, I decided to just go with one game per conference this week, but I could have just as easily gone with the Siena/Denmark game (it was the other one that I considered for the Zeta game this week). The Black Country Knights/London Aces game is another possibility in Alpha as well.

Got a feeling the Aces and Knights game could be a good one. The Aces are a decent team and a little underrated.

UPCOMING GAMES OF THE WEEK

Alpha Conference
Blazers at Bunnies - Current 6 and 7 seeds battle it out for the likely rights to avoid Black Country and Hattgenstein in Round 1 of the playoffs (not that winning the chance to face likely opponent Belfast is much better). Because of Messina's week 1 loss to the Pounds (and the Bunnies' week 1 win over the FLESH EATERS), I think Messina needs this game more than the Bunnies. If Messina wins, they will likely finish 10-6 with two more losses coming at the hands of the Defiance and Aces (9-7 with a loss). If SFPB wins, they should finish at 11-5 with their final three weeks including wins over three teams that have combined for 10 wins on the season, and could effectively clinch the #6 seed. With a loss, they will still probably end up at 10-6, but Messina would hold the head-to-head. Line: Messina by 8.

Zeta Conference
Helsinki at Chernobyl? - I didn't really want to pick any game this week in Zeta. No offense to Chernobyl and the other lower-seeded teams, but I don't see any particularly good games this week. This is the game of the week only because Chernobyl needs a win to keep its very slim hopes of reaching the playoffs alive for another week. Line: Helsinki by 23.

I was shocked at this one. From the looks of the numbers Aces look better then the Defiance. I thought they would give BCK a good game too

Back to form for us. Won't be that close against the defiance again.

yep, currently fixing the defensive problems we've apparently had for the past two seasons (my bad)

and RKS promised to never use that offensive game plan again. (hint hint)

Yes, unfortunately very slim. That loss to Siena IL PALIO really hurt. Always next year.

Thanks for the rankings. Fun to read.
