Well, you did OK in your league last year, but a bump up means harder competition and more difficult games. And FWIW - winning any championship is harder than winning the Big 11... that conference has become a joke.

How about sweeping the regular season twice in a row and playoffs once undefeated? Offense sells tickets - REAL defense wins championships..... Lost 1 game over 2 seasons, and it was by 3points....

And BTW - the offense you shut down is not what goes on in this conference, and I think you may in for a rude awakening this season....

I'm sure Bort made some changes that has kept us competitive throughout the last couple of seasons, but NOW we're in the BIG LEAGUES and we have to learn our place and actually game plan. WHATEVER WILL WE DO?

I know! Let's replace the games with a spelling contest. Judging from these forums, we should be able to take a title that way.

OK, you come back to check on us whenever you want. I'm not disrespecting the teams of this league, but obviously none of you know much about this team. There are some very good teams in this league, and we are one of them. That's just fact, not cockiness. If you think it's being cocky to insist that we are the equals of those that are here with us, then I am cocky and not just acting like it. I haven't looked at your team, but challenge us and see what happens. You may win, and we may win, but you'll respect us when it's over with.

Noone said you wouldnt be competitive here.. just that you shouldnt be running your mouth before you actually beat anyone. Last season we saw a few teams come in and they were killers... and even the season before that... some teams can move up and compete, but not all of them. If you can back up what you are saying, then go for it and kick some ass.

Using terms like "REAL defense" and "rude awakening" and "not impressed" doesn't convey a sense of giving us a chance to be competitive. I didn't see a single member of the Vendetta claim we would go undefeated this season or be the #1 team in the conference. However, I can look back further in this post and give you several examples of you and others insinuating and/or outright saying that we would be lucky to be in the top half of the conference. I think it is way, way, way too soon for anyone to make a judgement on what we are capable of because it is obvious that those people saying these things don't know much about our team. I take offense at these accusations, and we'll get the chance to play all the other people that are talking. You, on the other hand, we will not get a chance to play unless it's a future season or in a scrim. I know Binestar well enough to know that a scrim is just an invite away, so I welcomed that challenge. In all honesty, I still do. However, I won't continue to push buttons since you've backed off your "high and mighty" approach to this little debate, so this can slip quietly into the night now if that's what everyone wishes. Most people are probably just talking. With the number of gutted/crappy teams in this league now, anyone trying to win should be able to be competitive.
