I can pretty much shut down the passing attacking by overloading the field with DBs...except the TE position. I'll have 2 DBs on a RB(etc) and leave my LOLB or SS 1v1 with a TE(see SF/DD games) who torches them constantly. DD's last game vs SF I believe they put up about 150+ yards to the TE which I knew was coming but couldn't get the correct defenders on the TE.

I'm almost never 1 vs 1 on receivers. Speaking of which, instead of talking about new plays how about we fix the smother and man base assignments first.

my bad bhall, didn't even bother reading the updates on the thread...just went straight into complaining mode

Once CB's aren't constantly left in the dust on the corner routes and safeties arent running around looking completely stupid in zone coverage, stopping deep passes will not be hard whatsoever.

The only thing those changes would do is punish qbs who are built to throw lame ducks 15+ yards and reward qbs who build pass power while fixing short passes. pass power needs more relevance in builds, its one of the biggest things for nfl teams. First thing they ask when they look at a qb is does he have the arm to make all the passes.

You can dismiss my team for being low on ladder. I think my team is better than it's rank though, at least this season.

But like I said. -eyeroll- I'm done talking about it now.

So, you wanna blitz a pure running team? Maybe call you some of that OP Middle Overload, huh?

I'm actually pretty cool with incremental steps like suggested here. Much, much better than MegaNerfHammer™ that came down on outside running earlier.

Ya. It's pretty much a bad idea all around

It can easily be beat with outside runs, about 90% of the time it kills inside runs and a very good pass rush if used in the right situation. I think it needs some minor tweaking for sure, but if you know a team spams it over and over you can really make them pay.

Which is what makes the sneaky "MO bomb" from out of nowhere so dirty.

Pass Power actually has a lot of relevance in builds. You just aren't seeing that as clearly because the WR's routes are doing entirely all the work.

For sure. I am about 90% positive that when you get the man base and smother plays having the correct man assignments doing what they are supposed to do. And then make fixes to the obviously flawed coverages on those corner routes for both the man cover CB and the safeties when they are in zone. DC's will be super happy with the results. Any time I get the coverage I want on a WR it works out really well. Giving me boosts to deflect and intercept isn't going to help me on the things that are broken, it is only going to make it massively hard to complete passes against the routes that aren't broken.

Give me some boosts to INTs, I'd love to average 3+ a game.

im not entirely sure you won't already at the vet level. That is my thing. Coverage is way better than it was on the test server and guys were intercepting like crazy.
