I basically strip my team down, relocating as many players as I can for this season, in an effort to get relegated, then Las Vegas (Westpac) gets gutted/disbanded....then somehow we WIN a game, and now the winless U Canes are disbanding (class act, sorry to see them go)...

...So, now there a 5 teams below us (0-3)....

I can't buy a break...

Gutting FTW

There might be another team joining those ranks soon if Bort doesn't stop changing the coding on the fly with no warning and seemingly no thought to how it will affect gameplay. I've about reached my limit.

I would agree with this sentiment. You game plan on Wednesday for a game on Thursday, only to find out on Thursday that your game plan is obsolete.

If it were just once this season, that would be one thing, but tweaks are occurring every other day right now.

The good news is yesterday's fixes seem to have really improved and balanced out game play, and should hopefully be the last. For this season.

So what's the official tally now for gutted or "re-building" teams in O-Pro this season?

If anough teams keep disbanding, maybe you'll make the playoffs...

Alpha is fairly clear. DogDandy is the only one that really stands out. Others are doing responsible rebuilds.

But Zeta is just getting killed.

It's just going to get worse if Bort continues like this with seemingly no plan for the future. Instead of making hundreds of teams available every season and sometimes midseason, he should instead hire a couple programmers to make this sim program more robust. He's making changes 2 or 3 times a week now, with absolutely no idea what it will affect down the line. The temporary money grab of endless early expansion is going to doom this game. A lot of us owners from season 1 are at our wits end and ready to throw in the towel.

We lost our last game because he made a change to the sim and didn't announce it. It was Week 4 in Season 2 when he messed with QB accuracy. We went with an uncharacteristic pass heavy offense that game and our QB looked like a high school cheerleader out there.

I think you guys really have to remember that this is a BEAT! I know we're paying for it, but we all know this is a game in development. I believe Bort is trying like hell to get to a live workable game and these changes though they affect our games today are for the greater good of what is to come. He can't wait for the off season to try things out because he needs the live game data to see how it effected the game.

I'd just say be patient with the code changes. (I for one agree that they SUCK!!!) You just have to understand that they're necessary. You could say, 'I'll just come back when he's done with the changes then', but if you do that you'll miss out on all the data that made the changes possible. By going through these changes with the game we're all going to have a major advantage to anyone that joins up when this game is live...

Just be patient, the changes can't always be for the better, but the ones that have been for the better (Agility for bursts of speed, Wrap up now misses sometimes when tackle skill is only 10, Confidence [season 2] makes people jittery on the line, and a string of others) have made the game more realistic and made our job of game planning that much harder... which means more fun for me...

That had a factor into why I threw in the towel.

BEAT or Beta?

I don't see how we will gain any advantage if we have no idea what's going on ourselves. Just when we figure something out as basic as what the sub ratios actually do...It Changes!! We're all flying by the seat of our pants here with no clear idea if what we actually think the code will do is right or not.

I've been a beta tester for many online games from Everquest to BF1942 to WoW, never in my life has it ever cost me money to do it. That is a MAJOR difference here. You can't call the game BETA and expand it by 1000 teams every month. You can't.
