Bit of a game planning error there? Holy shyte batman - you can be out planned and out played like any of the rest of us mortals LOL. Oh...maybe those were "off days" or "building days" - yep...but end of the day you lost 5.
As for our game planning, we monitored SoYo's roster and watched the boosts from day 1 - I know what players were boosted and what positions they were in and they had us beat - we had no boosts left. Running up the middle would have resulted in a longer possession for us - but in the end our team would fade first and we would have resigned the game. Bigger and better chances were available if we went harder on offense in the air and got lucky - but we couldn't run one or the other, as there is no conditional aspects for O or D in the game atm. Can't wait till the actual AI is running so we can control the conditions better, but given the option of run till we drop and get no where or go for the gamble we went for it. We also had a good idea that they'd grind us down - see the fade at the end with our LBs on the D stopping runs. But it was a solid effort and a solid win by the better team.
Oh yeah btw the reason its good to go for the gamble- its a game with a sim - if you figure out the code for builds and the code for the game plays, you win. Congrats. Even then the "random" number generator can fuck ya in the end - ask about that Newcastle game. So, on any given day any "plan" can go flying out the door and you will loose. So before you go around thinking it was your above average intelligence or your innate ability to play football that has any good god damn thing to do with your success - admit it now, there is a large streak of luck and an even larger bias of experience with this game/computer logic that affected that outcome.
For our first season playing this game I think we turned in a respectable season. I think somehow we managed to have a good bunch of guys on our roster, not the least in part to JC's work and efforts in recruiting good folks. A lot of folks in this league are in the same boat - but none are on hear acting like asshats. Seriously, if you wanna talk shit sons - ya gotta win. Now you can sit here and say we are QQing, but we lost to the same damn team and we're not the ones pushing this puerile BS across multiple forum posts.
Oh, and for future thoughts, we do not plan on leaving on a 1 out season and I don't think anyone else who is in this league is planning on anything less. As you are leaving the league, I wish you the best of luck - as I have in the past - but I truly hope you get your act together and perhaps eat a little humble pie or just grow the hell up. Gracious in victory or defeat you certainly are not, but then I guess that is a test of character and you sirs are found wanting at this time.

SoYo & Transylvania were the Big-2 in Alpha this season, heads & shoulders above the rest of us. They BOTH could have ran their mouths to their hearts content & if they had, no one could say much because they backed it & proved it on the field....
....but they didn't. Both were classy sportsmen throughout the entire season and making respectful comments towards even the lowliest of competitors within Alpha.
Anyone else notice that Bolts Prediction thread didn't get personal & nasty until the Zeta folks got involved in it?

To be honest, I think Alpha was very sportsmanlike the entire season. It got a little toasty toward the end, but a lot of it was in fun (see scrimmage thread for example). Reb, who did you feel was out of line with regard to sportsmanship here in Alpha? If any of the Belfast team has made Alpha feel uncomfortable, we apologize.
