Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! Let's get straight to the action!

Alpha Division
1 The Program 5-0-0
2 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 3-2-0
3 House Party 3-2-0
4 Miola Maulers 1-4-0
Texas Magnums get mauled by the Miola Maulers, 0-21.
Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money get big Ls taped to their foreheads by House Party, 17-55.
San Diego Flames go down in their namesake as The Program win away, 14-55.
All three games won by the Alpha league teams were not close while the one loser held the vaunted Purple primates to only two scores. Clearly Alpha Division is the one to watch this season.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 5-0-0
2 Obscure References 2-3-0
3 Knoxville Outlaws 1-4-0
4 San Diego Flames CPU 0-5-0
Grape Apes House of Slombo go ape sh... bananas all over the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001, 14-0.
The House of Slombo is running the show here but still has two dates with destiny ahead of them. Maybe the near scare was enough to awaken their offense? Who knows? The Shadow knows! Dun Dun Duuuun!

Gamma Division
1 Bay Area's Best Builds 5-0-0
2 Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards 3-2-0
3 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 2-3-0
4 Texas Magnums 0-5-0
Knoxville Outlaws play it tough with the Bay Area's Best Builds but fall short, 3-9.
Obscure References get blown out in the 4th by the Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards, 9-41.
BABBS keep their unbeaten season hopes alive after a falter almost proved fatal. Their FG midway through the second was the only score until with only 2:36 left in the 4th on 3rd & 12 from the BABBS 25, DT Darius Buck sacked QB Earl Edwards for a 7 yard loss! This gave the Outlaws great field position after the ensuing Punt, which they drove down and with only seconds left to play kicked a game tying FG sending this one to OVER TIME! BABBS promptly woke up and scored a TD but wow, Knoxville almost stole one!
Meanwhile The Obscure References were also playing a tight game (9-17 at end of three) until they allowed the Snow Leopards' TEs to blow wide open the lead in the 4th. TEs Music Melody (6 receptions 65.5), Voss Lobo (5 receptions 60.5), and Yao Magnus (6 receptions 53.5) had solid days as they were focused in the game plan. But it was TE Music Melody's two 4th Quarter TDs that really put this one out of reach for the MVSL team.

Dragon League Week 6 Match-ups

Obscure References @ Miola Maulers
At the risk of offending the Maulers, this match-up favors OR. Gadz has a full roster of human-built players and hopefully, he has addressed the strategy/playbook/tactics issues that we have discussed. On the other side, the Maulers are all CPU and unlike Gadz, I have not heard a peep from mahleumon.

Knoxville Outlaws @ House Party
It looks like HP has righted the ship as they have won 4 out of their last 5 games. On the other side, the Outlaws are on a bit of a losing streak. Unfortunately for Knoxville, I see that streak continuing.

SRDM4M @ Nebraska
This is a BIG game for both teams. Arguably more so for SRDM4M than Nebraska. Either way, I predict that the loser will not make the playoffs. This one is too close to call and can go either way so we will have to see who’s playoff dreams are shattered.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn4-acZ7Iqo

Texas Magnums @ The Program
As long as the Program does not get complacent this should be an easy W over inactive KhalifaniB2’s Magnums.

Grape Apes @ BABBs
The GotW! Possibly the Game of the season between these to undefeated behemoths. This could be a preview of the championship game. BABBs will test the Ape’s S* defense. I predict a close one, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats for the whole game. I predict the Ape’s will win by the nose of a banana.

CPU Sand Diego Flames @ MV Snow Leopards
The Snow Leopards get the bye this week…err I meant to say they get to play the Flames, which have all but been snuffed out.

Would you have preferred Chicken Man? He's everywhere, He's everywhere!

Or Fireside Theater's "Nick Danger, Third Eye"? Surely you jest... No, I don't jest and stop calling me Shirley!

The Grapes are really hard to beat but I am so mad I messed this game up for the league. No excuses but we know we can't beat them in long pass defense all day, when I can tell you off hand Grapes haven't passed more than 30% all season, except the all passing game against Nebraska. But last night, I set my D to 70 percent pass on 1st down? I should fire myself. After a showing like that, it appears the Grape Apes are unstoppable, and this will make for a very interesting defense of our title. Great coaching Apes!

Biff Barf here! Soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! We have as many in division games under our belts as we have inter-divisional dust-ups. Clear cut front-runners are emerging as we head to the halfway point in this fourteen game season. First off The Program has a sizable two game lead in the highly competitive Alpha. Grape Apes House of Slombo have a commanding (not to be confused with the laughably named Commanders) three game strangle hold on Beta. Finally we have Bay Area's Best Builds one game tenuous one game lead over Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards in Gamma. The Wild-card is way up for grabs with over four teams still in the running that don't have the lead in their respective divisions. The rest? Focus on building a better tomorrow cause today is training day.

Alpha Division
1 The Program 6-0-0
2 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 4-2-0
3 House Party 4-2-0
4 Miola Maulers 1-5-0
House Party painted the town red as the beat the Knoxville Outlaws, 46-3.
The Program gave a learnin' to the Texas Magnums they won't soon forget, 98-3. Oh the humanity!
Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 won at home in the must win versus Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money, 14-11.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 6-0-0
2 Obscure References 3-3-0
3 Knoxville Outlaws 1-5-0
4 San Diego Flames CPU 0-6-0
Miola Maulers really are tough defensively, but offense fails them in loss to Obscure References, 3-6.
The Maulers followed their plan to perfection as they jumped out in front early on a first quarter FG only to watch O.R. match them in the second with a FG of their own (K. Derek Wallace went 2 of 4 with one from 50+). But Miola just couldn't muster anything on the O.R. defense after that and eventually O.R. got a walk off FG in OT to seal an ugly but hard won W.
Bay Area's Best Builds get dismantled by Grape Apes House of Slombo, 0-52.
Despite all the excuses BABBS's staff can muster we note that the Purple Primates had their way with Best Build's D in the latter parts of both halves indicating that BABBS may not be built for close games where conditioning and grind it out warfare are called for. Sure, the Grape Grunting Goliaths got the better by the gound and pound to the tune of 70+ runs to a mere 6 toss attempts. The fore mentioned Coaching staff saying they second guessed themselves to failure by going pass over 70% just proves I'm hungry and need to get a bite... wait, what?!
Gamma Division
1 Bay Area's Best Builds 5-1-0
2 Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards 4-2-0
3 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 2-4-0
4 Texas Magnums 0-6-0
Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards enjoy a walk in the jungle as they devour the San Diego Flames, 64-0.

i dont know either of those but a quick Google says Fireside Theater debuted on TV. my odd area of old is focused more heavily on radio first or only shows.

Then you should have known about Chicken Man since it was a comedy radio program that was doing reruns on Armed Forces radio back in the 70's and referenced many 50's era stuff...

Chickenman was an American radio series created by Dick Orkin that spoofs comic book heroes, inspired by the mid-1960s Batman TV series. The series was created in 1966 on a Chicago radio station WCFL, and was then syndicated widely, notably on Armed Forces Radio during the Vietnam War.

Nick Danger, Third Eye debuted in 1969 while the Firesign Theatre's radio show Radio Free Oz was running on KMET (FM). It appeared on the B side of their second album How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All.

So, yeah they are both products of the late 60's and comedies that I was exposed to in the late 70's while overseas in Germany.

Either way, the purple primates abode of Slombo must be broken up!

Biff Barf here, soaking up all the news and barfing it back at you! Let's get straight to the action!

- > Dragon (and on til the break of dawn,) League < -
Alpha Division
1 The Program 10-0-0
2 House Party 7-2-0
3 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 7-3-0
4 Miola Maulers 1-9-0
Texas Magnums are used as welcome mats for the House Party, 0-130. Oh the Humanity!
Grape Apes House of Slombo got their monkey shocked and choked by The Program, 13-50. The Grape Apes drew first blood on a TD pass by QB Slingo Solacesta to WR1 Philip Niedermeyer, however The Program then reeled off four TDs of their own and by then it was all over before half time. The defenses tightened up afterward but the damage was done.
San Diego Flames play tomato can for the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001, 0-23. The ground and pound was strong in this one as as the flames were grounded and the Cornhuskers did the pounding to the tune of 79 rushing plays.

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 9-1-0
2 Obscure References 4-6-0
3 Knoxville Outlaws 2-8-0
4 San Diego Flames CPU 1-9-0
Unbolweevable, the entire division was slapped with massive Ls all over their collective foreheads... wowzers!

Gamma Division
1 Bay Area's Best Builds 8-2-0
2 Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards 6-4-0
3 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 4-6-0
4 Texas Magnums 0-9-0
Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money win at home against the Miola Maulers, again, 27-6. SRDM4M are back in the hunt! for Red October that is as the play-offs done passed them by. The rain caused sloppy play but unlike the ladder game the Mercs got an early start in this one.
Knoxville Outlaws get eaten alive by the Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards, 0-48. Midnight Vegas passed for 445 yards and ran for another 128 as they controlled this one from start to finish.
Obscure References lose a heart breaker to Bay Area's Best Builds, 9-13. K. Derek Wallace did his absolute best to get the win for O.R. even had them leading deep into the fourth quarter. But with 3 minutes left, BABB's QB Aiden Doss threw a pass to WR4 Charmin Gaines, who made the catch for a 10 yard gain and a touchdown! after that the O.R. offense just. got. nothing. as two unsecured passes in the rain and an out right drop by TE Brian Murphy led to a three and out.

This is a special Spaceman Spiff , um, Special Report. On Dragon league football's state of the league uh, state...
(I really have to get better writers for these...)

+ DRAGON LEAGUE +
Alpha Division
1 The Program 11-0-0
* The undefeated and Home field leading The Program Have strangely enough not officially clinched the division title. One win and they are but it's not official yet. Once they do, and they win at least two of the last three, they will face off against the wild card team, probably.
2 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 8-3-0
* The Cornhuskers sit in an unexpected place after a slow start to the season. They lead in the wild card race though it's tenuous at best. They could mathematically still win the division but that seems unlikely. and it's still conceivable they fail to make the playoffs at all.
3 House Party 8-3-0
* House Party is in a similar boat to Nebraska. Only tie breaker behind the Cornhuskers with the same chances of winning the division and failing to make the playoffs. Need to beat the Cornhuskers to win Wild Card and pray for a total implosion of The Program to have a chance at division...LOL.
4 Miola Maulers 2-9-0
* Are more likely to not win another game in league since the deck is stacked but Ladder wise could make waves. Biggest question is will they give it another go next season?

Beta Division
1 Grape Apes House of Slombo 10-1-0
* Have the Beta Division title clinched by a large margin. Simply await the two games of The Program vs. Nebraska & House Party for shot at Home Field. Could be upset by O.R. but that still doesn't change much.
2 Obscure References 4-7-0
* It's been a rough season for Obscure References. They recently were upset by SRDM4M in a game they were expected to win. could find themselves under .500 if they don't win out the rest of the season and yet, they hold much promise for next season as second in division with proper build developments and adjustments to game plans.
3 Knoxville Outlaws 3-8-0
* They have had some close but no cigar type games and the future is brighter than this past season would lead you to believe. Still, at the end of the day, you are what your record says you are. So for now they could use some serious adjustments to game planning and roster building.
4 San Diego Flames CPU 1-10-0
* Yeah, they suck. It is true they have a few players here and there along with a couple of still functional CPU players, but over all they blow chunks. Will always have that upset over Texas Mags after they fold at end of season.
Gamma Division
1 Bay Area's Best Builds 8-3-0
* lead the division and will likely finish as the rep for Gamma in the post season. Could lose it to Midnight Vegas but it would require two out of three losses just for it to be possible.
2 Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards 6-5-0
* The Snow Leopards thank their lucky stars they are in Gamma with this record as any other division would have given them no hope. But they are here with a chance to still win the division but only if they find a way to win out the last three games and then they have to hope that SRDM4M can beat BABBs at least once...
3 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 5-6-0
* Need a new Offensive line, a couple new corners, a FB, maybe a pass catching TE, a DT... but other than that they are great! well, there is always next season.
4 Texas Magnums 0-11-0 unlikely they return as their owner is AWOL and staff vacant... Only QB Slim Shady looks promising and it's hard to find open QB slots. Most players un-boosted or they would have had offers even in mid season.

Wild Card Race
1 Nebraska Cornhuskers 2001 8-3-0
2 House Party 8-3-0
3 Midnight Vegas Snow Leopards 6-5-0
4 Screaming Red Devil Mercs 4 Money 5-6-0

Finally, agerm73's infamous weekly league write ups have come back to Dragon League.
I know it has been awhile...but I can not ignore the thousands of requests from my millions of loyal fans (this may or may not be an embellishment, but dammit, let me have my pipe dream).
Ok, after much ado, here you have it...

Dragon League Week 12 Match-ups

Miola Maulers @ The Program
Maulers come to the Wolf Den. The last time these two played, The Program mauled Miola 51-10. Theoretically, the Maulers CPU roster should not be able to compete with The Program’s S* roster, but I suppose that anything can happen any given Sunday.

Nebraska @ House Party
One of this week’s Game of the Weeks. Both teams come into this game with identical records. The last time these two played Nebraska walked away victorious 41-35. I believe that HP with reverse fortunes this week. Sorry HigherGrowth, I probably just jinxed you. Oh yeah, by the way, the losers will most likely not make the play offs.

Texas Magnums @ SRDM4M
This is a game that SRDM4M should win as the Magnums are 1-21 and inactive but SRDM4M only won by a FG the last time they played.

Knoxville Outlaws @ CPU San Diego Flames
Knoxville should beat the CPU Flames, but Zane is inactive…yikes. I am still going to give this one to Zany Zane’s Outlaws

Snow Leopards @ BABBs
The other GotW. BABBs has a two game divisional lead and the Snow Leopards are looking at the playoffs from the outside in. Maybe that will be enough motivation for the Snow Leopards to steal this one. If not, then they will most likely be watching the playoffs from their sofa. I will take the Snow Leopards in this one to keep things interesting.

Grape Apes @ Obscure Reference
This will be a rough one for the much improved OR. Beast Mode (Slombo #5) has proven that he is damn near unstoppable and the Apes are all-in in preparation for their revenge date with The Program

“Losers will most likely not make the playoffs.”
Has been the intrigue watching how both teams got to this point with same record. Should make for a good one.
