Just let up 500+ rushing yards in a scrimmage to a sophomore team, a tier below us. Granted, no defense was set.

Does anyone else think the pendulum has swung a little too far towards running. Particularly outside runs with sprinting/conditioning builds. I know you can combat this with good DC'ing. But right now there's not even close to a passing equivalent. I know it's impossible to perfectly balance both rushing and passing, but the CIT nerf really hurt.

I'm not the DC so I can't say for sure, but part of the problem could be the janky DC controls and not necessarily a balancing issue. Seems like you're bound to be in a bad formation eventually against the outside run. And with certain HB builds, there are almost no successful rolls required to break off a huge run. It's just too easy. But I'll stop crying. The game is in a pretty solid place right now.

It seems silly to say "we did good holding their HB to 5 ypc" after a game.

I don't know that anything needs to be tweaked in that regard but I see your point that it can be challenging about stopping a good outside running team. That means appropriate plays, tactics, and builds.

What catch in traffic nerf?

Greatly increased ability to catch in traffic, based on how long ball has been in air (short flight duration easier to catch than longer duration)

Haha, I never actually looked at the changelog... But it seems like longer passes are a lot harder to complete this season. It could be the "rattled" change, but in general passing stats are down for the season, no?

Yeah...increasing the ability to do something isn't a nerf.

Haha, agreed. Anecdotally, its had a negative affect on longer passes. All I'm sayin'. That, or it can be attributed to more negative affects of being rattled.

I have to assume you would be referring to my team. My teams record against Journey/Pro tier in scrimmages, along with my RB's rushing yardage and yards per carry:

Aug 11 16:00 @Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels L 20-28 RB 194.5 yd - 3.1 ypc
Aug 11 11:00 @Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels L 7-48 RB 108 yd - 4.3 ypc
Aug 10 15:00 @Long Island Executioners L 3-24 RB 95 yd - 3.4 ypc
Aug 10 5:00 @Bowie Bay Serious Moonlight W 52-35 RB 523.5 yd - 7.1 ypc
Aug 10 4:00 @Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels L 20-24 RB 289.5 yd - 4.6 ypc
Aug 7 16:00 @Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels L 10-38 RB 129 yd - 3.2 ypc
Aug 7 14:00 @Bowie Bay Serious Moonlight L 35-38 RB 388.5 yd - 7.3 ypc
Aug 7 14:00 @Kapitol Killers L 18-27 RB 247 yd - 5.1 ypc
Aug 7 12:00 @Long Island Executioners L 9-17 RB 209 yd - 3.3 ypc
Aug 7 12:00 @Kapitol Killers L 10-41 RB 181 yd - 3.5 ypc
Aug 4 17:00 @Bowie Bay Serious Moonlight L 17-49 RB 184 yd - 4.3 ypc
Aug 4 17:00 @Long Island Executioners L 21-33 RB 317.5 yd - 5.9 ypc
Jul 30 20:00 @Kapitol Killers L 28-35 RB 428 yd - 7.1 ypc
Jul 30 20:00 @The Jedi Order L 0-34 RB 55 yd - 1.1 ypc

My RB had good numbers through most of these scrimmages, yet we were only able to win 1 of these games. Our resulting record is 1 - 13 vs Journey/Pro teams.

My intention is not to demean nor brag. In case this thread becomes a discussion about nerfing RB's in some way, I also want a voice in that debate.

The scrim is private unfortunately. I would guess you didn't play the outside run well, if at all in your play calling. However our defense has done some really strange things in a couple games in regards to outside runs.

This play is a good example. Cover Expert fires on an outside run. Apparently the targets are blockers which isn't good.

Yes, its referring to your scrimmage. We had a default defense in so its not a great example. I was just citing it because it highlights how overly effective outside runs are against the wrong defense. I've noticed this with our team and against several teams. It's not a targeted attack on you. Initially I thought it could be a balance issue, but it's probably more of a DC'ing issue.

It's a DC thing. Most outside runs can be slowed down. Like most will tell you, comes down to build, tactics etc...

Just checked my soph CB, seems like cover expert is really good, he is 232-90 on a unboosted normal CB.

3-4 Gap Press should be labeled as a "Blitz" in the playbook, especially since its the opposite of 3-4 Sting Pinch.
