Originally posted by Raid Nah, cap boosts now make max-mining the expensive stats a major gain as you can now almost ignore lower cost skills to get the %s down on the expensive things and then just boost up the shibby caps left behind. You can no longer have as good a player unless you are paying.
Also the whole '2 seasons at vet' thing, spend all that time building up to the max potential and you are then force to retire and start again or else go to a limbo-league that is as enjoyable to play in as a d-league without the development.
And because you can't min-max as much, players are forced to be more balanced as they build or else fall behind everyone else min-maxing due to their skills being cheaper, and balanced blows ass until you get near the top. So you get 2 seasons of enjoyment after running the shit-gauntlet to get your free players up.
Not to mention if you don't want the team to break up along the way your best bet is to jump on a successful team resetting, but hold on there champ they don't want the player you want to build, they want the one they made themselves on Stobie's tool. Do they want to pay for that player to have exactly what they want? Nah, that shit is expensive, and owners have all the rights here so you make the dot how they say or take your chance with some new owner who might not even get a full roster for you.
So what do you do? You quit, because this is how it all boils down. You either pay out the ass like you do GE and have control over everything you want through a bunch of multis and cash spending on your own or you try and get other people to prop up your habit, all other options lead to you losing interest in building other people's ideal dots or struggling to find a team that can have cohesion. There is no middle ground for agents, not unless the game was so populated that the teams could easily find players.
It's the cycle that will drain every bit of interest for the game and there has to be something done to stop it or else the game will continue to shrink until it is no longer viable. The problem rests in the agency and the 0 benefit from salary aside from to limit the amount of S* players.
There's no sniping of a great HB from one team to another, especially with the limited time at pro and the MAJOR penalties to chemistry. I imagine if the game had 4 seasons natural with 2 additional at max with little to no penalties for moving teams and an actual REASON to want/demand more money it could still be viable and have some kind of draw to it for the players. I don't know what kind of things we could do that would actually make players want to have more money, and that's the major issue with that... You're never really going to put the power balance to a good level without it.
Not too mention the players you make will sit behind S* and only get 10-20% of the plays, so basically, it's either make an expensive player that barely gets playing time or make a player you want and sign with a cpu or inactive owners team.
Steve, in my phone don't want to have to quote your entire post. You sir are correct, like we've discussed before a $20 subscription would help this game grow like crazy, if you want to nickle and dime us make us pay in addition to the $20. Tighten up the caps a bit(10 s* isnt real) and make fatigue a bigger factor to enforce depth and I really. It wouldn't be nearly as hard for us to bring in new players

A subscription would definitely be nice. Trying to micro-manage the flex as a team owner isn't much fun, and the costs are simply becoming too much to indulge. Just call it GLB Plus+, give free boosting to Plus+ agents, a free team, and whatever else might work.

Ive always thought they should cap the # of S* on a team to 9. Or raise their salary.
The biggest thing is that it's just too expensive to continously play this game. At what point did the devs decide that it was more about the money than the customers enjoyment?
This entire season I logged on mainly to check forums and didn't truly game plan 1 single game this season.

Agree....to expensive. It wouldnt be bad if they lowered the AP and career boosts and gave us another free Vet season.
I've said it for many years - but this is a coordinator's game...where the players pay all the money (even owning a team is cheap). That is what stymies its growth in my opinion. If 15$ or 20$ a month could get you an entire team full of players and a team --- there would be potential for growth -- but as it is now it is just too expensive.
From the team owners side (the team who gets other agents to build their players) - I get it. That is annoying too - people go inactive and leave. People disappear. People (if not guided) build wacky players that hurt the rest of the team. Owning a team and guiding all the other players in detail with regard to how they build their players is no picnic.
But hey - Bort and Corndog definitely built a fun game. It has brought income in for several years. The early years it probably brought good money in. I wish they'd tweak it now to make making running an entire team reasonable as I expect that might rejuvenate the game - but I don't think they are interested in doing that.
I'd say $10 to $15 a season to build your own team with full roster (with up to 7 S*players), not a month...just per season, is the way to go. This is truly a coordinator's game.
Also, the grind to get to vet just to reset after 2 seasons is BS. I've asked for 2 years just to increase this to 3... 3 for FFS, at least then it wouldn't be so brutal to have to start over if you finally build a good team.
